This dataset represents the consolidated submissions for non-energy minerals and prospecting permit application data from BLM states responding to the WO 300 data call during the time period of November 2011 through May 2012. It is intended solely for use in the GRSG cumulative effects analysis. Source data, their acquisition methods and errors/omission rate vary. All original datasets used to create this dataset are stored in the BLM’s NOC E-GIS file structure. The paths to the original data are stored in this file’s attribute table. See the source data for detailed metadata and error analysis. Processing to develop this dataset: 1. Added a "Source" field to the attribute table of the original submission. 2. Populated...
The biologically significant unit (BSUs) were revised in April 2019, creating the most up-to-date version of this dataset. A BSU is a geographical/spatial area within greater sage-grouse habitat that contains relevant and important habitats which is used as the basis for comparative calculations to support evaluation of changes to habitat. This BSU unit, or subset of this unit, is used in the calculation of the anthropogenic disturbance threshold and in the adaptive management habitat trigger. BSU feature classes were submitted by individual states/EISs and consolidated by the Wildlife Spatial Analysis Lab. They are sometimes referred to as core areas/core habitat areas in the explanations below, which were consolidated...

This is an aggregate national dataset describing the geographic boundaries of the ACEC within the BLM managed public lands. The designated ACECs are "areas within the public lands where special management attention is required to protect and prevent irreparable damage to important historic, cultural, or scenic values, fish and wildlife resources or other natural systems of processes, or to protect life and safety from natural hazards." To include information on Ownership and Level of Protection (CEA Technical Team decision, 6/1/12), Intersect the PAD-US dataset (PADUS_1_2_StudyArea) with the NM_NCA_and_Similar data with the following fields turned on: Owner Type, Owner Name, Local Owner, Manager Name, Primary Designation...

A consolidated grazing dataset representing BLM and FS submissions, with ownership indicated in the 'Mngmnt' field. Overlaps are identified as "BLMFS". BLM - GSSP allotments and pastures merged, overlaps removed, and dissolved to one polygon. GSSP SNAPSHOT of Approved data set made on 5/14/12 for the Greater Sage-grouse baseline rangewide cumulative effects analysis. This aggregate national dataset identifies allotments within BLM managed public lands. FS - This allotment layer is a merged and dissolved representation of the 27 allotment data files submitted to the BLM by the USFS for the GRSG CEA. As needed, records with ‘Unit_Type’ = 1 were selected for the merge, while the remainder were omitted. Additionally,...

Vectorized version of the raster model with the PJ and Conifer interface areas merged across the west. A raster model was developed to identify sagebrush land cover which is in close proximity to conifer land cover, thus suggesting a risk for conifer encroachment. To achieve this end product the following general steps were taken: 1. Extract sagebrush land cover types from GAP/ReGAP data. 2. Extract conifer land cover types (excluding those corresponding to pinyon, juniper, and pinyon-juniper) from GAP/ReGAP data. 3. Reclassify and add these raster datasets. 4. Conduct a focal statistics operation. 5. Multiply the above product by the extracted, reclassified sagebrush raster to identify sagebrush cells adjacent...

This dataset represents the consolidated submissions for oil shale research, development and demonstration lease data from BLM states responding to the WO 300 data call during the time period of November 2011 through May 2012. Additional features were added from a Colorado data submittal on 12/20/2012. Added...

The following habitat management areas were used in the creation of this feature class: PHMA: Areas identified as having the highest habitat value for maintaining sustainable GRSG populations and include breeding, late brood-rearing, and winter concentration areas.GHMA: Areas that are occupied seasonally or year-round and are outside of PHMAs.IHMA: Areas in Idaho that provide a management buffer for and that connect patches of PHMAs. IHMAs encompass areas of generally moderate to high habitat value habitat or populations but that are not as important as PHMAs.OHMA: Areas in Nevada and Northeastern California, identified as unmapped habitat in the Proposed RMP/Final EIS, that are within the Planning Area and contain...

Project to provide information to support the GBLCC’s implementation of a new project tracking system.FY2016Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) is a member of the Great Basin Landscape Conservation Cooperative (GBLCC) steering committee. NDOW would like to strategically partner with the GBLCC and others to collaborate on data gathering, organizing, identifying geographic priorities and creating a strategic plan for habitat work. However, NDOW lacks a larger guiding document or strategic plan that demonstrates their strategic priorities in terms of wildlife management and habitat projects. Such a guiding document would further NDOWs efforts to provide enhanced leadership across the state and build closer and more...

NatureServe Greater Sage Grouse Assessments This map shows current and near-term status data for greater sage grouse. Southwest REGAP also provided several geographic ranges by HUC. Great sage grouse ranges for the U.S. are included. Greater sage grouse leks (related to NatureServe's ecological scorecard) are also provided. The input data used for associated analysis is included, as well as all dependent datasets. These data are provided by Bureau of Land Management (BLM) "as is" and may contain errors or omissions. The User assumes the entire risk associated with its use of these data and bears all responsibility in determining whether these data are fit for the User's intended use. The data compiled in this product are from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Conservation Efforts Database (CED). The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) was asked to contribute conservation efforts conducted for the benefit of the Greater Sage-Grouse (GRSG) to the USFWS Conservation Efforts Database (CED). All BLM plans and projects conducted for the benefit of the GRSG from 2009 – 2014, as well as those with a planned or in progress implementation status that extended into 2015, were compiled and submitted to the USFWS CED. DO NOTE: Due to overlapping plans and projects, some spatial feature may not be fully visible. The spatial area may not encompass the actual extent of a plan or project. Though...

This report provides a strategic approach developed by a Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies interagency working group for conservation of sagebrush ecosystems, Greater sage-grouse, and Gunnison sage-grouse. It uses information on (1) factors that influence sagebrush ecosystem resilience to disturbance and resistance to nonnative invasive annual grasses and (2) distribution and relative abundance of sage-grouse populations to address persistent ecosystem threats, such as invasive annual grasses and wildfire, and land use and development threats, such as oil and gas development and cropland conversion, to develop effective management strategies. A sage-grouse habitat matrix links relative resilience...
