Mohave436A is located in T14N R12W Sec 15 NE in the Kaiser Spring - 7.5 Min quad. This collection consists of various reports, maps, records and related materials acquired by the Arizona Department of Mines and Mineral Resources regarding mining properties in Arizona. Information was obtained by various means, including the property owners, exploration companies, consultants, verbal interviews, field visits, newspapers and publications. The Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan (DRECP), a major component of California's renewable energy planning efforts, will help provide effective protection and conservation of desert ecosystems while allowing for the appropriate development of renewable energy projects. We investigated the behavior of feral horses (Equus caballus) at Conger Herd Management Area (HMA), UT, and of burros (Equus asinus) at Lake Pleasant HMA, AZ, and Sinbad HMA, UT between 2016 and 2020 (Sinbad HMA 2016 to 2019; Conger and Lake Pleasant HMAs 2017 to 2020). We collected data on the time budget and social behavior of adults (2 years old and older) between April and September annually in Utah, and year-round in Arizona. We also collected data on group composition year-round at Conger, Lake Pleasant, and Sinbad HMAs with the addition of Frisco HMA (horses; UT) in order to derive social network metrics. Dataset for BLM Wild Horse and Burro Herd Areas & Herd Management Areas. Herd Areas were designated in 1971 as places where wild horses and/or burros were found during the initial flights in 1971. Federal lands identified in 1971 but not managed for wild horses and burros are called Herd Areas. As additional surveys were done and data gathered, it was determined that some of these lands and animals were actually on private lands and/or were private animals. Areas with private animals that were 'claimed' during the claiming period were not carried forward as Herd Areas. This dataset includes locations of burros between 2016 and 2020 from two study areas where burros were located every 2 hours continuously using GPS telemetry collars for Lotek collars, and every 13 hours continuously for Vectronic Aerospace collars. Location data are from adult female burros, not males. Study areas are the Lake Pleasant Herd Management Area in Arizona, USA and the Sinbad Herd Management Area in Utah, USA. Some burro location data from the Lake Pleasant Herd Management Area were collected by the Arizona Game and Fish Department, covering the same time period and methods as USGS-collected data.

Feral burros (Equus asinus) and horses (E. ferus caballus) inhabiting public land in the western United States are intended to be managed at population levels established to promote a thriving, natural ecological balance. Like many large ungulate populations, management agencies employ aerial surveys to obtain estimates of horse and burro population sizes. Double-observer sightability (MDS) models perform well for estimating feral horse abundances, yet the effectiveness of these models for use in burro populations is less understood and may be different due to the smaller size, stoic behavior, and cryptic pelage of burros. This dataset includes a number of datasets collected to assess the potential effects of GPS telemetry collars on free-roaming feral equid species in North America: horses and burros. The behavior dataset (Behavioral_data_collared_uncollared.csv) includes frequency of maintenance behaviors of collared and un-collared horses at Conger Herd Management Area (HMA), and burros at Lake Pleasant and Sinbad Herd Management Areas (HMAs). The dataset also includes data on collar effects to fur and superficial effects observed, showing the count of fur effects (i.e., sweaty neck, indented fur, broken fur) and superficial effects (chafe, wound, or scab) on horses and burros over the time that they wore a collar (Collar_fur_and_superficial_effects_over_time.csv)....
