This data release includes time-series data from a monitoring site located in a small drainage basin in the Arroyo Seco watershed in Los Angeles County, CA, USA (N3788964 E389956, UTM Zone 11, NAD83). The site was established after the 2009 Station Fire and recorded a series debris flows in the first winter after the fire. The data include three types of time-series: (1) 1-minute time series of rainfall, soil water content, channel bed pore pressure and temperature, and flow stage recorded by radar and laser distance meters (ArroyoSecoContinuous.csv); (2) 10-Hz time series of flow stage recorded by the laser distance meter during rain storms (ArroyoSecoStormLaser.csv), and (3) 2-second time series of rainfall and...

About 280 kilometers of multichannel (common-depth-point) seismic reflection profiles were obtained in the central Mississippi River Valley by Geophysical Service Inc. and Western Geophysical Company under contracts with the U.S. Geological Survey. The specific area of the profiles is southeastern Missouri, northeastern Arkansas, and northwestern Tennessee. Geologically, the area is located in the northern part of the Mississippi Embayment.

The data for this release is an ASCII file containing grid points of Cascadia P- and S-wave velocity models. The model volume was developed to include the Cascadia subduction zone for purposes of ground motion simulation. The description of the model and background of its development is provided in the associated Open-File Report. The grid points are given in Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) Zone 10 North coordinates for East and North locations, and the grid point depths are given in meters below mean sea level. Significant uncertainty remains in how and where crustal shortening occurs throughout the eastern Cascade Range in Washington State. Using lidar imagery, we identified a ~5 km long lineament in Swakane canyon near Wenatchee, roughly coincident with a strand of the Entiat fault. Topographic profiles across the lineament reveal a southwest-side-up break in slope with an average of ~3 m of vertical separation of the hillslope surface. We consider a range of possible origins for this feature, including differential erosion across a fault-line scarp, slope failure (sackung or landslide), and surface deformation across an active fault strand. Introduction This data release is a compilation of known landslides, debris flows, lahars, and outburst floods that generated seismic signals observable on existing seismic networks. The data release includes basic information about each event such as location, volume, area, and runout distances as well as information about seismic detections and the location of seismic data, photos, maps, GIS files, and links to papers, websites, and media reports about the event. Not all record types exist for each event, and the quality of the information varies from event to event. Data used for analysis described in the publication titled "Shallow-Landslide Hazard Map of Seattle, Washington" (available at https://pubs.usgs.gov/of/2006/1139/). The data consisted of a digital slope map derived from recent Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) imagery of Seattle, recent digital geologic mapping, and shear-strength test data for the geologic units in the surrounding area. The combination of these data layers within a Geographic Information System (GIS) platform allowed the preparation of a shallow landslide hazard map for the entire city of Seattle.

We performed hourly monitoring of conditions at the Two Towers landslide located in northern California near the town of Zenia. Monitored conditions included rainfall, groundwater head, horizontal total stress, horizontal effective stress, vertical soil deformation, and subsurface displacement. Data were acquired November 11, 2014–July 22, 2017, except for times during which power failure occurred; data for these times are given as “NAN” (not a number).
