This layer represents lines which have been proposed (per the requirements of Section 368 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005) as West-wide energy corridor centerlines for the final "Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement, Designation of Energy Corridors on Federal Land in the 11 Western States", November 2008. The layer was intersected with surface management agency, BLM field office, and state layers to add more tabular attributes.

This map document was created for use in the BLM MIR Rapid Ecoregional Assessment. This map contains the data layers for potential fossil fuels development risk. These data are provided by Bureau of Land Management (BLM) "as is" and may contain errors or omissions. The User assumes the entire risk associated with its use of these data and bears all responsibility in determining whether these data are fit for the User's intended use. The User is encouraged to carefully consider the content of the metadata file associated with these data.

The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), Research and Special Projects Administration (RSPA), Office of Pipeline Safety (OPS) is working with other federal and state agencies and the pipeline industry to create a National Pipeline Mapping System (NPMS). The NPMS is a full-featured geographic information system (GIS) containing the location and selected attributes of the major natural gas transmission lines and hazardous liquid trunklines, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities operating in the United States and other offshore entities. Michael Baker Jr., Inc. (Baker), as the primary contractor, assumes all responsibility of the NPMS National Repository. Source data is contributed by pipeline operators...

This dataset depicts geothermal wells in Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado based on maps produced by the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory. Locations are approximate only. These data were digitized by CBI from PDF maps at http://geothermal.inel.gov/maps/co.pdf, http://geothermal.inel.gov/maps/az.pdf, http://geothermal.inel.gov/maps/nm.pdf Users are advised to obtain GIS data directly from the source, if possible. Caution is required in interpreting the locations in these digitized data.

Proposed and existing solar and wind project site data; obtained from various BLM field offices or from other sources. Data is catagorized as "preliminary" due to not being constructed at the BLM CA State Office- since the official legal descriptions and maps for the project were not made available. However, these data for the projects in the "preliminary" feature class are being recognized as "current legal boundary data" for these projects, and should be used in the same degree as the project data in the "Verified" feature class.

This data was developed to show the allowable leasing footprints for oil shale extraction in the Piceance Basin of Colorado in support of the Oil Shale / Tar Sands Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (OSTS PEIS) being developed for the Bureau of Land Management. It was developed by starting with land owned by the federal government, including certain split-estate lands (those with sub-surface mineral rights), and removing areas restricted to oil shale extraction such as Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACECs), Wild & Scenic Rivers, etc. The resulting footprint shown in this data was used for analysis of Alternative B of the OSTS PEIS.

This dataset was created by CBI on 12/20/2011 from a tabular well location database at: http://www.conservation.ca.gov/dog/geothermal/maps/Pages/index.aspx No metadata were available; CBI pulled selected information from the above website to create this metadata record. Digital well locations for wells are available in a database file that contains the latitude and longitude for each geothermal well in the state. The database file can be downloaded as a statewide file (with approximately 3500 wells listed).

This dataset shows a summary of conservation elements in areas of near-term potential energy development. Near-term development is mapped using areas of anticipated oil / gas well development for the next 20 years, obtained from Copeland et al. (2009).

This dataset contains the future solarenergy risk data layer, which was derived from NREL solar energy data across the ecoregion.

This raster is used to answer management questions (MQs) about where conservation elements (CEs) overlap with areas of high geothermal energy potential in the Mojave Basin and Range Ecoregion. The value indicated in the raster represents a number that is the product of the landscape condition value and number of landscape species. The lower the value the few species and poorer modeled landscape condition (ecological integrity) expected. The higher the score, the more species and higher condition are expected. This layer seeks to address an article in the BLM Statement of Work 1.1.1 stated, Areas with High Potential for Renewable Energy Development (Required) (The Contractor shall a) locate areas identified (e.g.,...

This raster is used to answer the management question (MQ) regarding areas of low potential for renewable energy development (solar, wind, geothermal) that could potentially mitigate impacts to CEs from potential energy development in the Mojave Basin and Range Ecoregion. The value indicated in the raster represents a score between 0-100, the lower values indicating areas of poor landscape condition (ecological integrity). The higher the score, better landscape conditions are expected. Areas in the middle of the spectrum likely offer areas that present opportunities for mitigation under the logic that these areas are likely to be mildly impacted by change agents and therefore present opportunities for mitigation/restoration....

These data sets contain the attributes and indicators associated with aquatic EI and were categorized by size, landscape context, and conditionset in the Northwestern Plains Ecoregion. The data for the Aquatic EI used information from the Aquatic Threat analysis performed by the Missouri River Assesment Program (MoRAP). The MoRAP aquatic threat analysis contains information about each threat analysis attribute, indicator and metric arbitrarily quantified (1,2,3) for the 6th level Hydrological Unit (HUC12). These attributes were calculated for the entire HUC 12, the streams within the HUC 12, or the riparian corridor within the HUC 12. For this analysis MoRAP used arbitrary values were assigned good =3, fair =2 and...
