This dataset consists of a statewide GIS database of oil and gas pipelines for the state of Wyoming. It was produced under contract to the Wyoming State Energy Commssion by the Wyoming State Geological Survey with the help of various companies and government agencies. It contains oil, gas, CO2, product, and proposed pipelines with a variety of attribution. This dataset is to be completed Sept 25, 2002 and will be updated periodically in the future.
The South Atlantic Landscape Conservation Cooperative (SALCC) is leading a conservation design initiative that incorporates expert knowledge and a synthesis of data resources to develop a Conservation Blueprint. The Blueprint is intended to highlight opportunities for members to achieve conservation objectives. Diverse data resources exist to map patterns of species distribution, resource availability, ecological function, and other information about landscape gradients that are also associated with cultural and natural resource value. This file includes a shapefile that summarizes energy development risk at the 12-digit HUC watershed scale. Within the attribute table, information regarding the amount of impervious surface, HUC 12 watershed name and numerical code as well as the HUC 8 numerical code is included.
A comparison of hydrologic simulations in the lower Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River Basin, southeastern United States. This project provides technical assistance in integrating the Waterfall instream flow models developed for the South Atlantic LCC by RTI with the PRMS models being developed in the neighboring Gulf Coastal Plains and Ozarks LCC.

The Roundtable on the Crown of the Continent seeks to enhance culture, community and conservation in the 18-million acre region surrounding Glacier and Waterton Lakes National Parks. For the last seven years, we have sponsored an annual conference celebrating the landscape and people of the region. The second iteration of the Simple Viewer displayed the South Atlantic Conservation Blueprint 2.0 at the subwatershed and marine lease block scale. In this interface you could also find information about other landscape scale conservation plans, land cover, and protection status.
The workshop “How to Adapt to Climate Change” was held on May 10, 2015 at the University of Victoria by B.C. Parks and Pacific Climate Impacts Consortium (PCIC). The goal of this workshop was to introduce protected area managers to the concept of rapid assessment and conceptual modelling for adaptation to climate change. It was led by Tory Stevens (B.C. Parks) and Trevor Murdoch (PCIC).The workshop was attended by several participants that are protected area mangers and other interested parties from B.C. Parks, the Capital Regional District, Parks Canada, Tla-o-qui-aht Tribal Parks and Ekos Communications.

The Georgia Basin supports a globally unique mix of dry forest and savannah habitats that evolved under historic climates and First Nations land management. These extraordinary areas still provide ecosystem services essential to human health and well-being and are widely recognized for their outstanding beauty, recreational and economic values. However, most of this habitat has been converted to human use and what remains will be lost without further investment in conservation and restoration activities. We use leading-edge methods to prioritize stewardship actions, identify conservation networks likely to facilitate species persistence under climate change, and maximize return on conservation investments.

This project developed a soil vulnerability index and map indicating where forest cover will be most affected by climate change. Using this map, researchers developed a greater understanding of potential changes in soil moisture and temperature regimes under future climate conditions. They then evaluated how this information could be used to improve vegetation models across the landscape. Coastal resource managers are faced with many challenges and uncertainties in planning adaptive strategies for conserving estuarine habitats with climate change. To plan and manage for future scenarios, managers need access to data, models, and training on the best-available science. To address this need, the USGS Western Ecological Research Center has worked with federal, Tribal, state, and local partners to establish a network of study sites in 17 estuaries along the Pacific Coast, examining the climate change effects on tidal wetlands with high-quality local data, downscaled models, and projected storm effects. Study sites include ten USFWS National Wildlife Refuges and four NOAA National Estuarine Research Reserves.

Existing stream temperature data will be compiled from numerous federal, state, tribal, and private sources to develop an integrated regional database. Spatial statistical models for river networks will be applied to these data to develop an accurate model that predicts stream temperature for all fish-bearing streams in the US portion of the NPLCC. Differences between model outputs for historic and future climate scenarios will be used to assess spatial variation in the vulnerability of sensitive fish species across the NPLCC.
Aquatic invasive species are non-native plants or animals that can have negative impacts on our health and threaten commercial, agricultural, aqua-cultural or recreational activities dependent on lakes and rivers in the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem.

Executive Summary: Our project combined field surveys of fish communities and habitat characteristics with estimates of population genetic structure to identify and evaluate critical factors influencing fish communities in the Gila River basin of New Mexico. Fish communities were structured along a strong habitat gradient associated with stream size, with distinct differences in the distribution of native and nonnative fishes. Nonnative warm-water species generally occurred in mainstem habitats, whereas coldwater nonnative salmonids occurred in high elevation tributaries. This data product contains combined estimates of high habitat connectivity areas for mountain lion, mule deer, desert bighorn sheep, and black bear. The analysis area was a 236,000 square kilometers that encompassed the Navajo Nation, which includes portions of Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. The estimates of habitat quality were created with spatially explicit habitat variables and either an expert-based linear combination process (for mountain lion and mule deer) or a generalized linear mixed model-based estimation that used radio-collar telemetry data (for desert bighorn sheep, black bear, and pronghorn; collected between 2005-2011). Our objective was to model frequency of low-pulse events on small, ungaged streams in the Upper Colorado River Basin. Modeling streamflows is an important tool for understanding landscape-scale drivers of flow and estimating flows where there are no gaged records. We focused our study in the Upper Colorado River Basin, a region that is not only critical for water resources but also projected to experience large future climate shifts toward a drier climate. We represent vulnerability as matrix that relates impacts with adaptive capacity. Vulnerability is high when impact is high and adaptive capacity is low. Vulnerability is moderate when either the impact is high and adaptive capacity is high, or if impact is low and adaptive capacity is low. Vulnerability is low when impact is low and adaptive capacity is high. We represent these conceptually as categorical for ease of discussion, but in reality there is continuum of vulnerabilities, and a different adaptation strategies and likely conservation actions, depending on the characteristics of the vulnerability.
