The Hamilton Wetland Restoration Project (HWRP) is a joint venture between the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE; San Francisco District) and the California State Coastal Conservancy. The site is located on the property of the former Hamilton Army Airfield in Novato, California, along the western edge of San Pablo Bay, which is part of northern San Francisco Bay. The initial stages of wetland restoration, which included dredged sediment reuse, took place during 2009–2011. From 2011 until April 2014, the site was maintained as partially flooded through a temporary one-way culvert that allowed bay water onto the site. On April 25th, 2014, the outboard levee towards the north-eastern corner of the site was breached...
Note: This data release is currently being revised and is temporarily unavailable. This data release focuses on the nutrient and sediment concentrations, loads, and yields at USGS surface and subsurface-tile edge-of-field (EOF) agricultural monitoring sites in Great Lakes States. Water quality and rainfall metrics are summarized by individual flow events to evaluate the contribution of EOF losses to headwater stream networks in agricultural landscapes. USGS EOF stations are components of multiple local, state, and federal studies with goals of characterizing agricultural influences on water quality and/or documenting water-quality changes as a result of conservation adoption. As part of this data release, data...

This child page contains 34 csv files, site_qw_nuts, which contain observations of nitrate plus nitrite as nitrogen (npnN), total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP) for each site . Each file includes date of observation, measured value of water-quality constituent, remark code for the measured value, and site name. Availability of observations of water-quality constituents depended upon collecting agency and varied by site and constituent. Not all sites had observations for all constituents. The format of the csv file (date format and column headings) is designed to meet the specific requirements of file format for R-QWTREND. If csv files are opened directly in excel, the format of the data can change. To ensure...

Chemistry data were collected or compiled from stream water, lake water, and groundwater. Stream water samples were collected more frequently to capture the range of streamflow conditions. Discretely collected samples were analyzed for nitrogen content (total Kjeldahl nitrogen and nitrate plus nitrite nitrogen) and phosphorus (total phosphorus and phosphate as phosphorus). A subset of samples were analyzed for nitrogen and oxygen isotopes associated with nitrate and phosphate, respectively, to identify nutrient sources in Willow Creek Lake.

For about 10 years, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has monitored water quality and streamflow in three agricultural drainage ditches in an effort to evaluate the influence of best management practices on water quality. These ditches are small tributaries to oxbow lakes located in the Mississippi Alluvial Plain of northwestern Mississippi--two sites (LWSR and LWT2) drain to Lake Washington and one site (BLT1) drains to Bee Lake. Streamflow was intermittent at these sites and the ditches were dry much of the year. When streamflow was present, flows were measured on 15-minute intervals and water-quality samples were collected over the course of the flow event using an automated sampler. These datasets were aggregated...
The data include measurements of chlorophyll a and algal stoichiometry from benthic algae collected from Sky Pond, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, in 2015-2017; results of nutrient diffusion experiments in Sky Pond including chlorophyll a and other pigments to identify chlorophytes, bacillariophytes, and myxomycetes, and results of a laboratory incubation using benthic chlorophytes to identify ecosystem responses (nitrogen uptake, net primary productivity, ecosystem respiration, net ecosystem productivity, and dissolved organic carbon production) under nutrient and temperature treatments.

Total Nitrogen (TN) rloadest models were developed to compute TN flux at School Branch at three USGS monitoring stations: School Branch at Maloney Road near Brownsburg, Indiana (03353415); School Branch at CR750N at Brownsburg, Indiana (03353420); and School Branch at Noble Drive at Brownsburg, Indiana (03353430). Frequently, TN models developed in rloadest regress discrete TN concentrations against concurrent daily mean streamflow values. However, due to the flashy nature of streamflows on School Branch, the developed TN models regressed discrete TN concentrations against the closest unit-value (15-minute) streamflows. Once TN flux models were calibrated, unit-value streamflows were used to estimate average TN...
