The dataset contains estimates for total phosphorus flux from wastewater treatment plants that discharge to surface water within the Red River of the North Basin in the United States and subbasins. Shapefiles defining the subbasins are available as part of the same data release in which these data are published. Estimates of wastewater treatment plant total phosphorus flux (or load) were calculated by Tammy Ivanhnenko for the years 1978, 1980, 1982, 1984, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, and 2012. Flux estimates were based on the average discharge from the wastewater treatment plants and treatment level, both reported as part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Clean Watershed Needs Survey,...

We used spatial data from previously mapped preferential groundwater discharges throughout the Farmington River watershed in Connecticut and Massachusetts (https://doi.org/10.5066/P915E8JY) to guide water sample collection at known locations of groundwater discharging to surface water. In 2017 and 2019 - 2021, samples were collected during general river baseflow conditions (July – November, <30.9 cms mean daily discharge (USGS gage 01189995, statistics 2010-2022) when the riverbank discharge points were exposed. We collected a suite of dissolved constituents and stable isotopes of water directly in the shallow saturated sediments of active points of discharge, and coincident stream chemical samples were also collected...

The Hamilton Wetland Restoration Project (HWRP) is a joint venture between the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE; San Francisco District) and the California State Coastal Conservancy. The site is located on the property of the former Hamilton Army Airfield in Novato, California, along the western edge of San Pablo Bay, which is part of northern San Francisco Bay. The initial stages of wetland restoration, which included dredged sediment reuse, took place during 2009–2011. From 2011 until April 2014, the site was maintained as partially flooded through a temporary one-way culvert that allowed bay water onto the site. On April 25th, 2014, the outboard levee towards the north-eastern corner of the site was breached...

Note: This data release is currently being revised and is temporarily unavailable. This data release focuses on nutrient and sediment concentrations, loads, and yields at USGS surface and subsurface-tile edge-of-field (EOF) agricultural monitoring sites in Great Lakes States. Water quality and rainfall metrics are summarized by individual flow events to evaluate the contribution of EOF losses to headwater stream networks in agricultural landscapes. USGS EOF sites are components of multiple local, state, and federal studies with goals of characterizing agricultural influences on water quality and/or documenting water-quality changes as a result of conservation adoption. As part of this data release, data from within...

This child page contains 34 csv files, site_qw_nuts, which contain observations of nitrate plus nitrite as nitrogen (npnN), total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP) for each site . Each file includes date of observation, measured value of water-quality constituent, remark code for the measured value, and site name. Availability of observations of water-quality constituents depended upon collecting agency and varied by site and constituent. Not all sites had observations for all constituents. The format of the csv file (date format and column headings) is designed to meet the specific requirements of file format for R-QWTREND. If csv files are opened directly in excel, the format of the data can change. To ensure...
