The central objective of this project was to answer two questions: 1) how downscaled climate datasets, modeled vegetation changes, and information on estimated species sensitivities can be used to develop climate change adaptation strategies, and 2) how model results and datasets can be made more useful for informing the management of species and landscapes. To answer these questions, we identified enthusiastic partners working in two very different complex landscapes within the North Pacific Landscape Conservation Cooperative (NPLCC): 1) the British Columbia Park system, specifically the midcoast region, and 2) the National Wildlife Refuge system in the Willamette Valley, OR. The issues and concerns of each group...

Depicts areas with more than 50% change in canopy cover due to logging using satellite imagery. Clipped to the Illinous Valley Landscape Assessment Boundary and change due to fire removed.
Any Siskiyou Forest land that is a descrete unit boundry with a desired future condition to meet specific resource objectives will be called a managed stand. Information for this layer came from the TRI maps, aerial photos, traverse maps (pre-sale activity cards), ROQ positives, and resource specialists. Southwest Oregon/Northern California Surface Management Ownership updated with Josephine County GIS dataThis theme portrays information related to surface jurisdiction of lands located in the Southwest Oregon/Northern California. The source data from BLM was updated with Josephine County GIS ownership data to correct errors in state ownership, add Josephine County ownership, and to align polygons with County Parcel data for the IV Landscape Assessment .
Desingation of Spotted Owl, Pileated Woodpecker, and Pine Martin areas was a long process which took place from 1984-1991. Documentation of this process can be found in the Siskiyou National Forest, Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS), Appendices-Volume I, Appendix B, pages B-83 through B-87
This dataset represents the study area boundary (polygon) for the San Luis Valley-Taos Plateau Landscape Assessment.
Trash sites cleaned up through efforts coordinated by the Clean Forest Project in Josephine County. Information includes pounds of material removed and recycled, description of materials, and owner. Sites with no GPS coordinates were assigned a location in Douglas County (42.0,-123.0).
Geospatial statistical modelling and thematic maps have recently emerged as effective tools for the management of natural areas at the landscape scale. Traditional methods for the collection of field data pertaining to questions of landscape were developed without consideration for the parameters of these applications. We introduce an alternative field sampling design based on smaller unbiased random plot and subplot locations called the pixel nested plot (PNP). We demonstrate the applicability of the PNP design of 15 m 15 m to assess patterns of plant diversity and species richness across the landscape at Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP), Colorado, USA in a time (cost)-efficient manner for field data collection....
This Illinois Valley Landscape Assessment boundary was developed by selecting 12-digit subwatersheds that encompass the agreed upon assessment boundary. These subwatersheds were dissolved into a single boundary. Below is the description of the source data: This data set is a complete digital hydrologic unit boundary layer to the Subwatershed (12-digit) 6th level for the entire United States. This data set consists of geo-referenced digital data and associated attributes created in accordance with the "Federal Guidelines, Requirements, and Procedures for the National Watershed Boundary Dataset; Chapter 3 of Section A, Federal Standards, Book 11, Collection and Delineation of Spatial Data; Techniques and Methods...
