These data include 217 median groundwater elevations computed from compiled measurements made in the year 2010 within the transboundary Mesilla/Conejos-Médanos Basin, United States and Mexico, along with their corresponding interpolated groundwater elevations and standard errors from the application of kriging. Of the 217 median groundwater elevation locations, 109 were in the United States and 108 were in Mexico. Considered measurements were limited to wells thought to be completed in the basin-fill/Santa Fe Group aquifer based on well records. This dataset includes a comma-separated values file (Control_points.csv) that provides the median groundwater elevations that were kriged to yield rasters of estimated groundwater...

In 2004, about 90 migrating elk drowned after attempting to cross thin ice on the Mores Creek arm of Lucky Peak Lake upstream of the Highway 21 bridge. To better understand the depths over a range of reservoir pool elevations in the Mores Creek Arm, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Lucky Peak Power Plant Project, conducted high-resolution multibeam echosounder (MBES) bathymetric surveys on the Mores Creek arm on Lucky Peak Lake. The MBES data will assist reservoir managers and wildlife biologists with regulating reservoir water surface elevations (WSE) to support successful big game migration across Mores Creek on Lucky Peak Lake. Data collection provided nearly 100 percent coverage of bed elevations...

This part of DS 781 presents data for the transgressive contours for the depth-to-transition map of the Pigeon Point to Monterey, California, map region. The vector file is included in T "TransgressiveContours_PigeonPointToMonterey.zip," which is accessible from https://doi.org/10.5066/F7N29V0Z. As part of the USGS's California State Waters Mapping Project, a 50-m grid of sediment thickness for the seafloor within the limit of California’s State Waters between Pigeon Point and southern Monterey Bay was generated from seismic-reflection data collected in 2009 and 2010 (USGS activities (S-15-10-NC, S-N1-09-MB, and S-06-11-MB) supplemented with outcrop and geologic structure from DS 781. The resulting grid covers was...

In 2016, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) started collecting high-resolution multibeam echosounder (MBES) data on Lake Koocanusa. The survey originated near the International Boundary (River Mile (RM) 271.0) and extended down the reservoir, hereinafter referred to as downstream, about 1.4 miles downstream of the Montana 37 Highway Bridge near Boulder Creek (about RM 253). USACE continued the survey in 2017, completing a reach that extended from about RM 253 downstream to near Tweed Creek (RM 244.5). In 2018, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Idaho Water Science Center completed the remaining portion of the reservoir from RM 244.5 downstream to Libby Dam (RM 219.9). The MBES data collected in 2016 and 2017...

The High Plains aquifer extends from approximately 32 to 44 degrees north latitude and 96 degrees 30 minutes to 106 degrees west longitude. The aquifer underlies about 175,000 square miles in parts of Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming. This digital dataset consists of a raster of water-level changes for the High Plains aquifer, predevelopment (about 1950) to 2017. It was created using water-level measurements from 2,928 wells measured in both the predevelopment period (about 1950) and in 2017, the latest available static water level measured in 2013 to 2016 from 63 wells in New Mexico and using other published information on water-level change in areas with few water-level...
This dataset is a polyline shapefile containing bathymetric contours, at 1-meter intervals, of Lago Guayabal, Villalba, Puerto Rico. The contours were generated from bathymetric data collected during a sedimentation survey conducted during the period December 11- December 14, 2017 by the Puerto Rico office of the Caribbean-Florida Water Science Center of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The goals of the survey were to determine reservoir infill sedimentation rates, generate a bathymetric map of the reservoir, and create a stage-volume relation. Field techniques used during the survey were similar to those outlined by Soler-López (2008) and Wilson and Richards (2006). More than 270,000 water-depth points were surveyed...

This data release contains spatial data associated with the bathymetric survey and sedimentation analysis of Lago Carite in January 2018. During January 23–30, 2018, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, conducted a bathymetric survey of Lago Carite primarily to update estimates of the contemporary reservoir storage capacity and sedimentation rate. Previously designated transect lines were surveyed by using a depth sounder coupled to a differential geographic positioning system to generate a bottom contour map and, ultimately, the stage-storage relation for Lago Carite. This data release consisted of three items: bathymetric contours, water-depth data points and...

The aquifer underlies about 175,000 square miles in parts of Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming. This digital data set consists of three sets of water-level measurements. The first set are the supplemental water-level measurements for 457 wells screened in the High Plains aquifer, not located in New Mexico , and measured in predevelopment, and between 2013 and 2016, but not in 2017. These supplemental measurements were used to calculate historical water-level change values for predevelopment to 2013 to 2016 and...

This dataset is the product of a geospatial interpolation using groundwater-level data obtained from a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) synoptic survey of 129 groundwater wells in Fauquier County, VA from October 29 through November 2, 2018 and selected points from the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD). Methodology is detailed in USGS SIR 2022-5014 "Groundwater-level contour map of Fauquier County, VA, October - November 2018." Files include a continuous raster surface of groundwater-level altitudes at a horizontal resolution of 30 meters and vector lines of discrete groundwater-level altitude contours.

The Ozark Plateau aquifer system stretches across approximately 70,000 square miles (mi2) of Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma, and is composed of many hydrogeologic units, such as the Boone aquifer and the Roubidoux aquifer. However, this data release is focused on only 11,000 mi2 in northern Arkansas, southeastern Kansas, southwestern Missouri, and northeastern Oklahoma. The Boone aquifer covers approximately 10,700 mi2 of this area, and the Roubidoux aquifer covers the 11,000 mi2 area entirely. These aquifers are mostly made of Mississippian-aged and Ordovician-aged carbonate rock, and serve as the main sources of fresh groundwater in northeastern Oklahoma (Imes and Emmett, 1994). In 2017, the U.S. Geological...

Water levels were measured during March 2014 in wells in the Antelope Valley and Fremont Valley groundwater basins, southwestern Mojave Desert, California, in cooperation with the Antelope Valley-East Kern Water District, Palmdale Water District, and Littlerock Creek Irrigation District. These data document recent conditions and, when compared with previous data, changes in groundwater levels. A regional water-table map was constructed using data from about 200 wells.
