This paper proposes a regional and sectoral model of global final energy demand. For the main end-use sectors of consumption (industrial, commercial and public services, residential and road transportation), per-capita demand is expressed as an S-shaped function of per-capita income. Other variables intervene as well, like energy prices, temperatures and technological trends. This model is applied on a panel of 101 countries and 3 aggregates (covering the whole world) and it explains fairly well past variations in sectoral, final consumption since the beginning of the 2000s. In low permeability but naturally fractured media, vertical leaching or volatilization of toxic organic compounds can lead to high exposures and unacceptable human health or environmental risk. A field test was recently completed to evaluate in situ remediation at such sites by using hydraulic fracturing to emplace iron metal (Fe0) and permanganate (KMnO4) solids in the subsurface to chemically treat trichloroethylene (TCE). This article presents the findings of a study that examined three municipalities in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada, in order to determine the nature of the socio-cultural and institutional barriers to action on climate change at the local level. FY2014There is increasing interest in climate change adaptation, particularly since the release of the Presidents Executive Order on Climate Preparedness in November, 2013, yet many field staff remain uncertain how to put adaptation into practice. Our goal with this project is to bridge the gap between the wealth of high-level climate adaptation guidance and the field staff who carry out specific regulatory processes, specifically Habitat Conservation Plans. The database has more than 47,000 wind turbine records that have been collected, digitized, locationally verified, and internally quality controlled. Turbines from the Federal Aviation Administration Digital Obstacle File, through product release date July 22, 2013, were used as the primary source of turbine data points. Verification of the turbine positions was done by visual interpretation using high-resolution aerial imagery in ESRI ArcGIS Desktop. Turbines without Federal Aviation Administration Obstacle Repository System numbers were visually identified and point locations were added to the collection. Dataset contains a comma delimited (csv) file reservoir stage-area and stage-volume tables. Stage is provided in elevation (in ft NAVD88) in the first column in 0.1 ft increments. Reservoir surface area is in acres and volume in acre-feet at each of those 0.1 foot increments.
