This dataset represents the 2002 parturition areas for bighorn sheep in Wyoming as mapped by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. Delineated parturition areas indicate areas with seasonally high concentrations of birthing animals. Boundaries are based on systematic and opportunistic long-term observation data. Depending on location and habitat conditions, birthing often occurs over dispersed areas. Such areas are not mapped as parturition areas.

This data set represents the 2010 elk seasonal range boundaries for Wyoming. Seasonal range delineations depict lands that are important in each season for certain biological processes within a herd unit. Seasonal range boundaries are based on long-term observation data, specific research projects, and professional judgement. Ranges are digitized at a scale of 1:100,000 using USGS 1:100,000 DRGs as a backdrop for heads up digitizing, and are revised as needed by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. Current seasonal range definitions are based on a 1990 document drafted by the Wyoming Chapter of The Wildlife Society in cooperation with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and federal land agencies.
This data set represents statewide migration corridors or routes for pronghorn antelope (Antilocapra americana) within the state of Wyoming. The original data was compiled by the Wyoming Game & Fish Department and produced on mylar map overlays which corresponded to U.S. Bureau of Land Management 1:100,000 scale quadrangle maps. Wyoming Open Spaces Initiative at the University of Wyoming digitized this hardcopy data to develop the original GIS layers in 2002. These have since been updated and continue to be maintained by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.

Synopsis: Working in collaboration with state, federal, and private partners, GRVLT seeks funding for Phase II of its Wildlife-Friendly Fencing Initiative. The second phase of this five-year initiative offers cost-free livestock- and wildlife-friendly fence improvements to interested public and private landowners within a portion of a key mule deer migration route. This corridor, as identified in the Sublette Mule Deer Study (Phase II): Final Report 2007, runs from the Hoback Rim to Big Sandy in Sublette County, Wyoming and links important habitat for mule deer, pronghorn, and other species.
