Building energy standards provide control over excessive use of energy in buildings, promoting energy efficiency and mitigating detrimental environment impacts brought by high energy consumption. The central objective of this paper is to develop correlations that will predict building heat gains and cooling energy consumption for commercial buildings in tropical climates. The energy performance index OTTV was first revised to obtain a new performance index, ETTV for commercial buildings. We developed new correlations to investigate the impact ventilation rates and building aspect ratios had on building cooling energy consumption. Comparing estimated and simulated results, we demonstrated good agreement, even for...

These data are U-Pb sensitive high-resolution ion microprobe (SHRIMP) geochronology data from quartz porphyry dikes for the study of the Butte mining district, U.S.A. Results of the study are described and interpreted in Lund and others (2018).
The data comprising this GIS and data download, digitized in 2020, is a partial compilation of the 1978 CGS publication Bulletin 40 – Radioactive Mineral Occurrences of Colorado (and Bibliography). Funding for this digitization project was from a U.S. Geological Survey National Geological and Geophysical Data Preservation Program (NGGDPP) grant with matching funds provided by the CGS. This two-part report provides an essentially complete listing of radioactive occurrences in Colorado, with a comprehensive bibliography and bibliographic cross-indexes. Part 1 lists approximately 3000 known radioactive occurrences with their locations and brief accounts of the geology, mineralogy, radioactivity, host rock, production...

These data are for a multidisciplinary study of dikes, country rock, and alteration systems, Butte, U.S.A. Results of the study are described and interpreted in Lund and others (2018). Data included are U-Pb SHRIMP geochronology for quartz porphyry dikes, 40Ar/39Ar thermochronologic data for biotite, hornblende, and K-feldspar from Butte granite country rock, and 40Ar/39Ar thermochronologic data for white mica and K-feldspar from alteration zones around lode veins. Also included are backscatter electron (BSE) and panchromatic cathodoluminescent (CL) imagery of minerals from samples dated by 40Ar/39Ar. These data are shared to meet open data requirements for interpretive report: Lund, K., McAleer, R.J., Aleinikoff,...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS), and Coal Creek Watershed Coalition (CCWC) working independently, have intermittently collected samples of surface- and groundwater and springs around Mount Emmons, near Crested Butte, Colorado. This data release is a compilation of the comprehensive inorganic chemical analyses conducted as a result of that sampling. The earliest samples were collected in the summer of 1997, and subsequent sampling has continued through 2019. Water samples collected in the Elk Creek basin, sample identifiers starting with EC, have been previously published in three U.S. Geological Survey reports; Verplanck and others, 2007, Manning and...
