Album caption and index card: Gibbon Falls on Gibbon River. The river tumbles over a scarp etched in the Yellowstone Tuff. The scarp first formed along faults at the north edge of the Yellwostone caldera 600,000 years ago, at a point that now lies 1/4 to 1/2 mile downstream. Continued erosion has caused the falls to recede northward to their present position. Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. 1970. Published as Figure 40-C in U.S. Geological Survey. Bulletin 1347. 1971.

Album caption: History and Dynamics of Glaciation in the Northern Yellowstone National Park. Striations and glacial polish on breccia clase in Eocene bedrock at Prospect Peak (altitude 2,930 m or 9,525 ft.) in the northern part of the Washburn Range. Note how striations and polish round upper edge of boulder and then disappear. About 10 similarly striated clasts protruding from the bedrock were found on the peak, each polished and striated on the southeast side, inidcating flow to the northwest (to the upper right). Photograph by Cliff Montagne. Wyoming, ca. 1968. No index card. Published as Figure 26 in U.S. Geological Survey. Professional Paper 729-F. 1979.

Figure caption: White Elephant Back Terrace (background) and spring MHS-30. The spring occurs along a tension fracture that coincides with the trend of the White Elephant Back Terrace. Length of the pool is approximately 3 m. No index card. Published as Figure 13 in U.S. Geological Survey. Bulletin 1444. 1978.

Figure caption: Scanning electron micrograph of cavity filling from 60.2 m in the Y-3 drill core. Micrograph shows, in apparent depositional sequence, quartz crystals (uuper left and lower right), dachiardite (blocky crystals extending diagonally from lower left to right center), radiating fibrous mordenite crystals, and numerous tiny smectite crystal clusters (after Bargar and others, 1981). No index card. Published as Figure 7 in U.S. Geological Survey. Professional Paper 1054-C. 1985.

Figure caption: Scanning electron micrograph showing a closeup of acicular aggregates of polysynthetically twinned bladed dachiardite from 98.1 m in drill core Y-6. The monoclinic dachiardite crystals are partly coated by fibrous mordenite crystals (m) and smectite (s). (Graphics on published photograph). May 8, 1981. No index card. Published as Figure 11 in U.S. Geological Survey. Professional Paper 1054-B. 1984.
