These data are bathymetry (river bottom elevation) in XYZ format (Easting, Northing, Elevation), generated from the July 24–25, 2023, and July 31, 2023, bathymetric survey of the Green River near Brownsville, Kentucky, from approximately 1.5 miles downstream from the Brownsville boat ramp to approximately 0.8 mile upstream from the former Green River Lock and Dam #6 site (3.8 miles total reach length). Hydrographic data were collected using an acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) with an integrated global navigation satellite system (GNSS) smart antenna. A bathymetric survey of Nimrod Lake, Arkansas, was conducted in late April to mid-May, 2016, by the Lower Mississippi-Gulf Water Science Center (LMG WSC) of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) using methodologies for sonar surveys similar to those described by Wilson and Richards (2006) and Richards and Huizinga (2018). Point data from the bathymetric survey were merged with point data from an aerial LiDAR survey conducted in December, 2010, that were provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Little Rock District. These data are digital elevation models (DEMs) of the beach topography and near-shore bathymetry of Lake Superior at Minnesota Point, near the Superior entry, Duluth, Minnesota. The DEMs have 1 meter (m; 3.28084 ft) and/or 10 m (32.8084 ft) cell size and was created from a LAS dataset of terrestrial light detection and ranging (LiDAR) data representing the beach topography and sonar data representing the bathymetry for an approximate 1.78 square kilometer survey area. These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. The major clay step features are defined as having a vertical face that is greater than 1.5 meters. The clay step features were qualitately identified using an underwater video monitoring sysyem. The extent and magnitude of the clay steps were mapped using a muliteam bathymetric echosounder system.

These data are bathymetry (lake bottom elevation) in XYZ format, generated from the April 9–10, 2018, survey of Bourbon Lake and Williams Lake near Loretto, Kentucky. Bathymetric and topographic data were collected using an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) and a real-time kinematic global positioning system (GPS). Data were collected as the AUV traversed the lake along planned survey lines, and these data were supplemented by manual GPS shots in a few areas the AUV could not reach. Data collection software integrated and stored the depth and position data from the AUV in real time. Data processing required computer software to extract bathymetry data from the raw data files and to summarize and map the information.
