This dataset is a polygon coverage of minable thickness for the Pond Creek coal zone in Kentucky, West Virginia, and Virginia. The coverage was created by gridding 4,391 points and contouring the grid with 1.17-ft intervals. The polygons have elevation values halfway between the bounding contour arc values. This dataset honors data submitted for the asessment from the Kentucky Geological Survey; therefore contour lines may not match across State lines (see Process Steps).
