This dataset shows the potential wood contribution to fish bearing streams for the Western Oregon Plan Revision (WOPR). The potential wood contribution is determnined for all streams over entire channel networks, including wood recruitment processes for channel-adjacent tree fall, mass wasting and channel migration. Model inputs are 10 meter Digital Elevation Models (DEM) and forest cover with detailed forest stand tables specifiying stem density, size and mortality rates for each size class in each stand type.BLM (Bureau of Land Management) WOPR (Western Oregon Plan Revision) PRMP (Proposed Resource Managment Plan) Channel locations and geomorphic attributes extraced using algorithms described in Clarke, S. Proposed Visual Resource Management (VRM) classifications within the Western Oregon Plan Revision (WOPR) area. These classes are based on scenic quality, sensitivity level, and distance zones. Managed VRM are areas which include Inventoried VRM and may include other external factors such as proximity to state highways or resource designations. Adjustment are made based on true ground designations.BLM (Bureau of Land Management) WOPR (Western Oregon Plan Revision) WOPR Theme Group: LUP (Land Use Planning) PRMP (Proposed Resource Managment Plan) VRM (Visual Resource Management)
Broad vegetation zones based on plant series groupings for anaylsis. The Plant Series Groupings provide a basis to stratify the planning area to reflect the different growing conditions. This stratification delineates four zones 1. Northern Oregon - Dominated by the Western Hemlock plant series. 2. Southern Oregon dominated by the Douglas-Fir series. 3. Tanoak series in south west Oregon. 4. Eastern Oregon forest types.BLM: (Bureau of Land Management) WOPR: (Western Oregon Plan Revision) PRMP: (Proposed Resource Management Plan) VEG: (Vegetation) Broad vegetation zones based on plant series groupings are needed for the WOPR for structural stage definition, establishing rotation length, and tree retention.

The geographic distribution of stream reaches with potential to support high quality habitat for salmonids has bearing on the actual status of habitats and populations over broad spatial extents. As part of the Coastal Landscape Analysis and Modeling Study (CLAMS), we examined how salmon-habitat potential was distributed relative to current and future (+100 years) landscape characteristics in the Coastal Province of Oregon, USA. The intrinsic potential to provide high-quality rearing habitat was modeled for juvenile coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) and juvenile steelhead (O. mykiss) based on stream flow, valley constraint, and stream gradient. See Supplemental Information for additional detail. BLM (Bureau of...
