This data provides an estimated raster surface of dissolved oxygen values across a region covered by an August 23, 2016 AUV survey. The raster was generated by using a natural neighbors interplator within a GIS on the empirical data set. This interpolator was chosen due to the non-normal distribution observed among the data, and its ability to produce smoother approximations than alternative interpolation methods. There are three files available for download in the 'Attached Files' section below. There is a zip file which contains the interpolated dissolved oxygen surface, an xml file which contains metadata, and a layer file which can be used to import the layer's symbology.
Seasonal geochemical data intended to understand formation of ferricretes and to help understand the ground-water flow system.
These data represent the air-free pH and specific conductance per pore volume of effluent generated by the phosphate removal column experiment. Solid samples used for the columns are of modern and legacy iron and steel slag from the Chicago-Gary area of Illinois and Indiana, USA.
Spatial measurements of water temperature, specific conductance, salinity, pH, and dissolved oxygen between 0.25 and 0.50 m water depth were collected every 10-seconds along and across shore at 12 principal study areas along west Hawaii Island. Measurements were made between 2010 and 2013 during different seasons and tide states over the course of 1.0 to 2.5 hours to evaluate the spatial and temporal extent of water properties that influence coral reef health and coral reef habitat availability.

This data release codifies and attributes explanatory variables that could potentially influence groundwater quality at 50 groundwater wells used for domestic water supply and 43 groundwater sites used for public water supply in the U.S. Geological Survey’s Priority Basin Project Redding-Red Bluff shallow aquifer (NSV-SA) study unit in 2018-2019 and Northern Sacramento Valley public-supply (NSV-PA) study unit in 2007, respectively. Water quality from domestic and public-supply groundwater sites was assessed as part of the California State Water Resources Control Board’s Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment (GAMA) program. The NSV-SA and NSV-PA study units include domestic and public-supply wells within...
Water-quality data were collected by the Providence Water Supply Board (PWSB) from tributaries in the Scituate Reservoir drainage area, October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2021 (water years 2018 through 2021). Water-quality samples were collected by the PWSB either monthly or quarterly at fixed stations on 37 tributaries in the Scituate Reservoir drainage area, Rhode Island. These data were used to calculate instantaneous loads and yields of constituents in reports by the U.S. Geological Survey. Water-quality samples were collected following a strict sampling schedule so that water-quality samples would be representative of various weather conditions. Samples were analyzed at the PWSB water-quality laboratory...

The surficial geology, wetlands, and deepwater habitats of the Coeur d' AleneRiver Valley, Idaho were mapped by Arthur A. Bookstrom and Stephen E. Box(1996-1998) onto 1:24,000 scale topographic base maps (stable-basegreenline mylars) for input into an Arc/Info geographic informationsystem (GIS).
Arsenic (As) toxicity is a global environmental and health problem. There are both natural (eg volcanic activity) and anthropogenic sources of As (eg lead arsenate and copper arsenate were commonly used pesticides in the 1900’s). Aqueous levels of arsenic in the Klamath Basin (CA, OR), which has a volcanic origin, can exceed at some locations both the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality human health water quality criteria (2.1 ug/L) (Sturdevant, 2011) and the US EPA drinking water limit (10 ug/L) (US EPA., 2001). In this study, dissolved concentrations of As, copper (Cu) and lead (Pb) were measured in more than 30 sites within the Klamath Basin between May and October. Results for 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021...

Here we archive data collected during a nitrogen addition field experiment in the Sacramento River Deep Water Ship Channel. Calcium nitrate was added on 8 dates to a segment of the ship channel centered at Navigation Light 74. Prior to and following the nutrient additions, we collected water samples and sensor-based measurements at 7 sites between Navigation Light 70 and 76. Water samples for nutrient analyses were collected in 500 mL High Density Poly Ethylene (HDPE) amber containers from 1 m and 8 m depths using a peristaltic pump. Whole water samples for phytoplankton analysis were collected from 1 m depth in 500 mL clear HDPE containers and immediately preserved with 20 mL of Lugol’s iodine solution (Lugol’s,...

EFCR_CQW.xlsx is a Microsoft Excel workbook containing continuous water-quality data collected by the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) at a site on the East Fork Carson River over two time periods in 2010 and 2012. Data were collected at U.S. Geological Survey site number 385755119473704, East Fork Carson River near Muller Lane downstream transect, also referred to as "SDT" in the larger work. Stream temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and specific conductance were measured at 5 to 10 minute intervals from August 3-September 29, 2010 and from July 20-August 17, 2012. EFCR_StreamProfiles.xlsx...
Groundwater data were collected in the spring and fall of 2008 from three sites representing different geological settings and biogeochemical conditions within the surficial glacial aquifer of Long Island, NY. Investigations were designed to examine the extent to which average vadose zone thickness in contributing watersheds controlled biogeochemical conditions and processes, including dissolved oxygen concentration (DO), oxidation-reduction potential (Eh), dissolved organic carbon concentration (DOC), and microbial dinitrogen (N2) production. Greatest N2 production was observed at the south shore of Long Island, which is characterized by a thin vadose zone, low DO and Eh, and relatively high DOC. Limited N2 production...
