Seasonal geochemical data intended to understand formation of ferricretes and to help understand the ground-water flow system.
This community serves to document data and analysis collected by researchers within the Upper Midwest Water Science Center whose mission is to collect high-quality hydrologic data and conduct unbiased, scientifically sound studies of water resources within the Great Lakes and Upper Mississippi Basins. We strive to meet the changing needs of those who use our information—from the distribution, availability, and quality of our water resources to topic-oriented research that addresses current hydrological issues.
Trends are identified changes over time in the characteristics of groundwater and (or) surface water. The characteristics analyzed can include descriptions of both quantity and quality. The calculated trends are dependent upon the available data and the methods used to identify trends. (Updated 12/23/2015)

Following the May 2005 acid crater lake flood at Chiginagak volcano, DGGS has been monitoring crater lake water that flows into Indecision Creek, Mother Goose Lake, and the King Salmon River. This data table provides information on water samples collected between 2005 and 2011 near Chiginagak volcano, including:sample ID, latitude, longitude, location description, pH, and cation and anion chemistry results.
This part of the Data Release contains the raster representation of the water-level altitude and water-level change maps developed every 5 years from 1980-2015 for the upper Rio Grande Focus Area Study. The input point data used to generate the water-level altitude maps can be found in the "Groundwater level measurement data used to develop water-level altitude maps in the upper Rio Grande Alluvial Basins" child item of this data release. These digital data accompany Houston, N.A., Thomas, J.V., Foster, L.K., Pedraza, D.E., and Welborn, T.L., 2020, Hydrogeologic framework, groundwater-level altitudes, groundwater-level changes, and groundwater-storage changes in selected alluvial basins of the upper Rio Grande...

This data release contains environmental and quality control results for chemical, biological, and physical sampling of water and bed sediment from Albemarle Sound and associated tributaries between 2012 and 2014 referenced in USGS OFR 2016-1171. Appendix 1 contains all quality control results to characterize the bias and variability of sampling, handling, and analysis of water, phytoplankton, and bed sediment samples. Appendix 2 contains all the chemical, biological, and physical results for water samples collected in July and August of 2012. Appendix 3 contains all the chemical, biological, and physical results for water samples collected from March 2013 to February 2014. Data are included for discrete samples...
These are all the chemical, biological, and physical results collected in 2013 and 2014 for the subject study.

This dataset describes the hydrogeomorphic structure and lake-tributary mixing in three intermediate-sized Lake Michigan rivermouths: Ford River, Manitowoc River, and Pere Marquette River. Data were collected from May to October 2011. Water chemistry variables were measured with a multiparameter sonde along longitudinal, lateral, and vertical transects. Magnesium, boron, and stable water isotope concentrations were also determined from grab water samples at particular depths.
Dataset provides inputs and model results of a stable isotope-based mixing model for estimating the relative contribution of seasonal recharge sources to the South Rim groundwater flow system, Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA.
