Raster Results of Near-Term Landscape Intactness Model (LIM) at 100 meter resolution. One important model developed for the Landscape Assessment to assist in the evaluation of Conservation Element status and trends is the Landscape Intactness Model (LIM). This model builds on a growing body of existing composite scoring methods that aim to characterize the relative ecological condition of landscapes. This model uses indicators of human modification to provide a measurable way to characterize intactness. Indicators and their scores were selected for the Landscape Intactness Model based upon knowledge of their amount and distribution in the study area and understood level of impact to natural systems. The Landscape...

This dataset presents current and future change agent models and combined future potential for change (PFC) within the montane and subalpine conifer forest Conservation Element. The montane and subalpine conifer forest extent was determined by querying the LANDFIRE existing vegetation dataset for montane and subalpine confer forest and clipping the data to the ecoregion boundary. This dataset presents current and future change agent models and combined future potential for change (PFC). Potential for change (PFC) was determined by calculating the maximum potential for change among all change agents within each 1 km reporting unit. Current and future landscape intactness (LCM_C_FZ and LCM_N_FZ) are based on measures...

Mapping of terrestrial vertebrates focuses on linking a spatial representation of species-habitat matrices to geographic distribution. Each model is a combination of distribution from regional and state references in association with contiguous appropriate habitats. Ranges for all species were based on 8-digit HUCs. Habitats were based on a raster SWReGAP 1 acre MMU land cover data set, with hydrology habitats added in from USGS NHD dataset directly or through modeling. Habitat association information was obtained from various state, regional, and national references with updates from scientific literature. This portion of the Southwest Regional Gap Analysis Project produced predicted habitat distribution maps for...

This dataset presents current and future change agent models and combined future potential for change (PFC) within native fish assemblage current distribution and potentially suitable habitat. The native fish assemblage current distribution and potentially suitable habitat extent was determined by combining the distribution of Rio Grande cutthroat trout, Rio Grande chub, and Rio Grande sucker (provided by BLM and CDOW) and clipping to the study area for the SLV-TP Landscape Assessment. This dataset presents current and future change agent models and combined future potential for change (PFC). Potential for change (PFC) was determined by calculating the maximum potential for change among all change agents within each...

GBHeronForagingArea is an ESRI SDE Feature Class showing Foraging Areas for Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) in Colorado. Foraging Areas are defined as areas where Great Blue Herons are known to feed. Appropriate habitat includes shallow water areas associated with reservoirs, lakes, ponds, streams, and backwater areas of major rivers with abundant fish populations. On large irrigation reservoirs, these areas will fluctuate with changing water levels. This information was derived from field personnel. A variety of data capture techniques were used including drawing on mylar overlays at 1:50,000 scale USGS county mapsheets and implementation of the SmartBoard Interactive Whiteboard using stand-up, real-time digitizing...

This dataset was created to support the BLM's San Luis Valley-Taos Plateau Landscape Assessment by clipping the data to the ecoregion boundary. This data set contains available boundaries and associated attributes for Important Bird Areas (IBAs) in the United States, identified as of May 2013. The IBA boundaries should not be perceived as absolute, definite boundaries. Rather, the boundaries should be considered approximates of the critical habitat areas. Comprehensive site specific surveys have not been conducted for each IBA, therefore, the data provided in this release cannot be relied on as a definitive statement of the presence or absence of all species at a given location. These data should not be considered...

This dataset approximates areas available for utility-grade solar energy development under the Solar Energy Zone Alternative of the Solar Energy Development Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS). Refer to the Solar Energy Development PEIS for more details (http://solareis.anl.gov/).

This data was created by the CPW GIS Unit. Property boundaries are created by dissolving CDOWParcels by the property name, and property type and appending State Park boundaries designated as having public access. All parcel data correspond to legal transactions made by the CPW Real Estate Unit. The boundaries of the CDOW Parcels were digitized using metes and bounds, BLM's GCDB dataset, the PLSS dataset (where the GCDB dataset was unavailable) and using existing digital data on the boundaries.

This layer combines the USGS' "US Aquifer' data with the Colorado Decision Support Service's "Bedrock Aquifer" data. The CDSS' version of the San Luis Valley aquifer in South Central Colorado provides a greater level of spatial detail than the larger USGS aquifer dataset which includes the area of interest within Northern New Mexico/Taos Plateau. Therefore the Colorado portion of the San Luis Valley aquifer was removed from the USGS US Aquifer dateset and replaced and edge-matched with the polygon represention of the aquifer provided by CDSS Bedrock Aquifer polygon.
