This coverage includes arcs, polygons and polygon labels that describe U.S. Geological Survey defined geologic provinces of Southeast Asia (Brunei, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam; and parts of Australia, China and Taiwan). Each province has a set of geologic characteristics distinguishing it from surrounding provinces. These characteristics may include the dominant lithologies, the age of the strata, and the structural style. Some provinces include multiple genetically-related basins. Offshore province boundaries are defined by the 2000 meter bathymetric contour.

These data sets include deposit description, location, andgeochemistry of sedimentary rock-hosted (Carlin-type) Au deposits inP.R. China. Deposit data was compiled by U.S. Geological Survey andTianjim Geological Academy into a series of tables (.xls and .csv)provided in Open-File Report 02-131, Appendix III and IV. Since the1980s, Chinese geologists have devoted a large-scale exploration andresearch effort to the deposits. As a result, there are more than 20million oz of proven Au reserves in sedimentary rock-hosted Audeposits in P.R. China. Additional estimated and inferred resourcesare present in over 160 deposits and occurrences, which areundergoing exploration. This makes China second to Nevada incontained ounces...
