This photograph was taken while the landslide was taking place near Attabad village. Photo by Inayat Ali (Shimshal). In January 2010, a large landslide in Northern Pakistan caused enormous disruption. The landslide at Attabad remains unresolved, such that it affects the daily lives of thousands of people. The ever-impressive Pamir Times, and various other newspapers in Pakistan, are now reporting another valley-blocking landslide in the same region, this time at Shigar in Skardu District.

High-resolution scanning electron microscopy (SEM) visualization of sedimentary organic matter (SOM) is widely utilized in the geosciences for evaluation of microscale rock properties relevant to depositional environment, diagenesis, and the processes of fluid generation, transport, and storage. However, despite thousands of studies which have incorporated SEM approaches, the inability of SEM to differentiate SOM types has hampered the pace of scientific advancement. Landslide taking place January 24, 2013. Three years ago, In January 2010, a large landslide in Northern Pakistan caused enormous disruption. The landslide at Attabad remains unresolved, such that it affects the daily lives of thousands of people. The ever-impressive Pamir Times, and various other newspapers in Pakistan, are now reporting another valley-blocking landslide in the same region, this time at Shigar in Skardu District. According to Google Earth, Shigar is in the valley above Skardu.

This data release presents the Yale stocks and flows database (YSTAFDB). Its data describe the use of 102 materials from the early 1800s to circa 2013 through anthropogenic cycles, their recycling and criticality properties, and on spatial scales ranging from suburbs to global.
