Stable isotope values for Dry Tortugas nesting loggerheads sampled 2013-2018

We used a combination of stable isotope analysis of carbon and nitrogen values in nesting loggerhead sea turtle samples to describe the foraging area used by each turtle. Here we present the stable isotope values for United States Geological Survey (USGS) turtles sampled in the remote Dry Tortugas National Park, south Florida, and their assigned foraging area.

The Chesapeake Bay Multispecies Monitoring and Assessment Program (ChesMMAP)

In general, ChesMMAP is fishery-independent monitoring survey that uses a large-mesh bottom trawl to sample late juvenile-to-adult fishes in the mainstem of Chesapeake Bay. This program currently provides data on relative abundance, length, weight, sex ratio, maturity, age, and trophic interactions for several important fish species that inhabit the bay seasonally.

The Vulnerability of Sea Turtle Nesting Beaches to Climate Change in the Southeast

The loggerhead sea turtle, found in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, is divided into nine distinct populations—five of which are federally endangered and four of which are federally threatened. Unfortunately, climate change may be putting the species at further risk. Sea-level rise, increased storm frequency, and changes in temperature and humidity could reduce the suitability of habitat used by loggerheads and other endangered sea turtles for nesting and feeding. Northeast Area Monitoring and Assessment Program Near Shore Trawl Survey (NEAMAP)

NEAMAP stands for NorthEast Area Monitoring and Assessment Program. NEAMAP was developed to meet the needs of fisheries management and stock assessment activities in the northeastern United States. NEAMAP began in 2006 with a fall pilot survey and in 2008 began conducting both a spring and fall survey.
