Alternative complement pathway assay data observed in adult largemouth bass plasma in response to an EE2 (17alpha-ethinylestradiol) or mixture of estrone and atrazine exposure under laboratory pond conditions, with associated fish identification information.
Physiological and molecular endpoints observed in juvenile largemouth bass in response to an estrogen (17α-ethinylestradiol) and subsequently a bacterial challenge (Edwardsiella piscicida) exposure under laboratory conditions. Also included are water quality and chemical concentration data.
Field and laboratory data collected for fishes sampled by boat electrofishing in the Sacramento-San Joaquin delta, CA. This data release includes all measured environmental parameters, body composition analyses, otoliths, and fish taxa included in the analysis.
To assess the effects of rotenone (fish toxicant) treatment and possible fish removal effects on nesting Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) populations, nests were observed at two reservoirs east of Ashland, Oregon. Hyatt Reservoir was treated with rotenone on October 12, 1989. Howard Prairie was observed as an untreated reference area. Nests at both reservoirs were observed two years pre-treatment (1988, 1989) and two years post-treatment (1990, 1992). The dataset contains Osprey reproductive parameters, foraging parameters, prey delivery rates and bald eagle piracy rates at eight intensively observed nests. Fish stocking records and creel data were obtained from the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife for both reservoirs...

Largemouth base histological development and transcriptomic changes in gonad tissue after early life stage exposure to Atrazine (1-Chloro-3-ethylamino-5-isopropylamino-2,4,6-triazine) or the model estrogen 17α-ethinylestradiol.
The data was gathered to document the extent and severity of biomarkers of exposure to estrogenic chemicals in smallmouth and largemouth bass. Samples were collected from 2004 through 2010 at sites in five watersheds within the Chesapeake Bay watershed. A total of 281 largemouth bass were collected from the Potomac, Susquehanna, Patuxent and Rappahannock rivers and 1,384 smallmouth bass from the Potomac, Susquehanna and James. Fish were collected by boat electroshocking, euthanized in the field, weighed, measured, a blood samples collected and a necropsy completed that included documenting any visible abnormalities and collecting tissues for histopathology. Plasma obtained from blood samples was analyzed for vitellogenin,...

These data were compiled to evaluate the potential impact various environmental conditions may have on native fish populaitons through predation. Introduced warm-water sport fishes present a high predation risk for juvenile native fishes, but observations of juvenile native fish surviving and recruiting in some rare cases led us to question what environmental conditions might be responsible for these trends. These data were compiled to allow for a relative comparison of predation effectiveness between a suite of warm-water predators under a variety of environmental conditions. Mean numbers of prey fish surviving in replicated overnight laboratory predation trials were quantified.
