Aerial imagery for the Upper Mississippi River System (UMRS) Navigational Pool 5 drawdown follow-up was collected in true color (TC) in August of 2015 at 6”/pixel using a mapping-grade Applanix DSS 439 digital aerial camera. All TC aerial images were orthorectified, mosaicked, and compressed into a JPEG2000-format image. The TC aerial images were interpreted and automated using a genus-level 150-class Long Term Resource Monitoring (LTRM) vegetation classification. The 2015 vegetation database was prepared by or under the supervision of competent and trained professional staff using documented standard operated procedures.

This 1:50,000 scale geologic map describes the distribution of unconsolidated deposits, identifies local geologic hazards, and provides information about the depositional environment and basic engineering properties of common surficial-geologic materials in and around Shaktoolik, Alaska. Map units are the result of combined field observations and aerial imagery interpretation. A suite of local ground observations were collected over a two-week period in July 2011 by a helicopter-supported team of DGGS geologists and collaborators. Field investigations included soil test pits, sample collection, soil and rock description, oblique aerial photography, and documentation of landscape morphology.
The Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument Seboeis Unit Vegetation Mapping Project was initiated in the fall of 2019 by a grant through the USGS Natural Resource Preservation Program to classify and map vegetation types of the Seboeis Unit thereby providing resource managers and biological researchers with useful baseline vegetation information. This layer provides the vegetation map for the Seboeis Unit. Information for this layer was collected in 2019 and 2020. After completion of the accuracy assessment process, 33 map classes represent the Seboeis Unit of the monument. Of the 33 map classes that represent the Seboeis Unit, 28 represent natural (including ruderal) vegetation types, consisting of 50 U.S....
The geographic information system (GIS) format spatial data set of vegetation for Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CUVA) was created for the National Park Service (NPS) Vegetation Inventory Program (VIP). The CUVA administrative boundary covers an area of nearly 13,000 ha. The map classification scheme used to create the vegetation data set is designed to represent local vegetation types at the finest level possible using the National Vegetation Classification Standard (NVCS) Version 2. Physiognomic information was also recorded, including height (woody vegetation), canopy density, and coverage patterns. The vegetation data set was developed by interpreting aerial imagery collected in October of 2010 and extensive...

Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) is a 50,000 acre refuge overlaid on portions of the former Jefferson Proving Ground (JPG) in Jefferson, Jennings, and Ripley counties, Indiana. Beginning in 1996, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) began managing the area. Big Oaks NWR was established in June 2000 as an “overlay” Refuge through a 25-year real estate permit from the U.S. Army. As an overlay refuge, the U.S. Army retains ownership and the USFWS manages the property as Big Oaks NWR. Big Oaks NWR hosts a variety of different habitat types, providing for a diversity of wildlife species. The refuge is unique in that it contains one of the largest contiguous forest blocks and grassland complexes in southeast...
