This dataset consists of the current distribution (2000s) of mangrove forests in the southeastern U.S. This dataset was created from the current best available mangrove data on a state specific basis. Florida mangrove data was extracted from Florida Landuse Land Cover Classification System (FLUCCS). For Louisiana, we used observations of mangrove stands from aerial surveys by Michot et al. (2010). Mangrove presence in Texas came from maps produced by Sherrod & McMillan (1981) and the NOAA Benthic Habitat Atlas of Coastal Texas (Finkbeiner et al. 2009). The goal of this project is to provide a preliminary overview, at a National scale, the relative susceptibility of the Nation's coast to sea- level rise through the use of a coastal vulnerability index (CVI). This initial classification is based upon the variables geomorphology, regional coastal slope, tide range, wave height, relative sea-level rise and shoreline erosion and accretion rates. The combination of these variables and the association of these variables to each other furnish a broad overview of regions where physical changes are likely to occur due to sea-level rise.

Basin boundaries were delineated for 1,320 USGS streamgages located on tributaries and streams flowing to the Gulf of Mexico. Basins ranged in size from less than 1 to approximately 67,500 square miles. Physical and climatic basin characteristics were calculated using these boundaries. Data presented here will be used as independent variables to estimate streamflow characteristics and provide a numerical foundation supporting the: (1) development of statistical models of streamflow characteristics; (2) evaluation of spatial and temporal trends in streamflow characteristics; and (3) development of network optimization analysis.

The fundamental geologic unit used in the 1995 National Oil and Gas Assessment was the play, which is defined as a set of known or postulated oil and or gas accumulations sharing similar geologic, geographic, and temporal properties, such as source rock, migration pathways, timing, trapping mechanism, and hydrocarbon type. The geographic limit of each play was defined and mapped by the geologist responsible for each province. The play boundaries were defined geologically as the limits of the geologic elements that define the play, such as the limits of the reservoir rock, geologic structures, source rock, and seal lithologies. Description of condition index value scores for estuarine tidal marsh along and within 10 km of the GCPO LCC Gulf Coast subgeography. A series of raster calculations were used in a dichotomous decision-based framework to compile a per-pixel draft condition index value at a 10 m resolution for GCPO estuarine tidal marsh based on the number of configuration and condition endpoints met within each marsh pixel. The data and R scripts contained in this data release are provided as support for a manuscript titled, "Copula theory as a generalized framework for flow-duration curve based streamflow estimates in ungaged and partially gaged catchments" (Worland and others, 2019) submitted to Water Resources Research. This page contains 15 estimated quantiles for 9,203 level-12 Hydrologic Unit Code in the Southeastern United States for the decades 1950-1959, 1960-1969, 1970-1979, 1980-1989, 1990-1999, and 2000-2009. A multi-output neural network was used to generate the estimated quantiles (Worland and others, 2019). The R scripts that generated the predictions are also included along with a README file. This dataset includes results of the Trend Departure Index (TDI) for 139 sites in the RESTORE trend analysis study and approximately 9,200 HUC12 pour points in the streamflow alteration study. Data from the 139 sites in the trend analysis were compared against reference site data from the GAGES II dataset (Falcone and others, 2010) and were used to calculate the departure from reference conditions. The streamflow alteration study used pre- and post-periods of analysis to quantify hydrologic alteration in terms of a ratio.
