These GIS data contain stream reaches that were identified as habitat areas for the Lower Columbia River Chinook Salmon (CKLCR) and Upper Willamette River Chinook Salmon (CKUWR) Evolutionarily Significant Unit (ESU).WOPR: (Western Oregon Plan Revision) PRMP: (Proposed Resource Management Plan) Chinook Salmon Columbia River Willamete River CHART: (Critical Habitat Analytical Review Teams) PCE: (Primary Constituent Elements) This data is a PRMP release version of the data fsh_aa_a_chinnok_chart_arc. These data were used in the critical habitat analysis conducted by National Marine Fisheries Service's Critical Habitat Analytical Review Teams. The analysis was conducted as part of the rule making process for critical...
The distribution and abundance of the greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) have declined dramatically, and as a result the species has become the focus of conservation efforts. We conducted a range-wide genetic survey of the species which included 46 populations and over 1000 individuals using both mitochondrial sequence data and data from seven nuclear microsatellites. Nested clade and STRUCTURE analyses revealed that, in general, the greater sage-grouse populations follow an isolation-by-distance model of restricted gene flow. This suggests that movements of the greater sage-grouse are typically among neighbouring populations and not across the species, range. This may have important implications if...

![]() This dataset includes the boundaries evolutionarily significant units (ESUs) of salmon on the West Coast of the United States of America. An evolutionarily significant unit, or ESU, of Pacific salmon is considered to be a "distinct population segment" and thus a "species" under the Endangered Species Act. Chinook salmon, Chum salmon, Coho salmon, Pink salmon, Sockeye salmon, and steelhead are all included in the dataset. ESU boundaries were compiled by the GIS group at the Bonneville Power Administration from various sources based on written descriptions in NOAA Fisheries Service status reviews (available upon request) and mapping provided by the Fisheries Service. Initial boundaries were derived from USGS 1:250,000...
