This digital dataset, compiled from previously published andunpublished data sources, contains a personal geodatabase andraster data of features related to the repeated inundation of theWillamette Valley and Portland basin by Missoula Flood waters inLate Pleistocene time. The feature classes contained within theWill_Valley geodatabase are called 'erratics', representing thelocations of ice-rafted erratics; 'contours', representinginundation levels associated with stratigraphic evidence ofrepeated floodings; and 'geology', representing the generaldistribution of Missoula Flood deposits. A stand-alone tablewithin the geodatabase contains geologic unit descriptions forthe geology polygons contained in the 'geology'...

This report provides detailed (1:63,360-scale) surficial-geologic mapping in the Dalton Highway area, from the Sagavanirktok to the Itkillik Rivers, in the west-central Philip Smith Mountains quadrangle. The map area extends from the northern flank of the Endicott Mountains into the Arctic Foothills province.

The Tyonek area in the northwestern Cook Inlet trough is rich in petroleum, coal, geothermal, aggregate, and timber resources, but the detailed geologic mapping necessary for planning future resource development exists only in part of the area. This report and geologic map provide basic surficial-geologic information useful for exploiting those resources and planning future utility corridor developments. In addition to mapping of surficial geologic units, we provide discussion of strategraphic evidence pertaining to physiographic relations and geologic history of volcaniclastic deposits derived from ancestral Mount Spurr, multiple phases of Quaternary glacial activity, Chakachatna River valley landslide complexes...

During 2006 and 2007 the Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys conducted reconnaissance surficial-geologic mapping in segment 1 of the Alaska Highway corridor, which straddles the Alaska Highway through the Tanana River valley from Delta Junction to the eastern boundary of the Mt. Hayes Quadrangle. Surficial-geologic deposits were initially mapped by interpreting ~1:63,360-scale, false-color infrared aerial photographs taken in August 1980 and field verified in 2006-2007.
