Summary: This directory contains a second version of the mosaics of the 2-dimensional (2D) surface strain fields of the 2019 Mw7.1 and Mw6.4 Ridgecrest earthquakes derived from optical correlation. These results are derived through a modification to the inversion approach described in Barnhart et al. 2020 (Nature Geoscience) wherein we remove the UTM reference frame when building the Green’s function that is incorporated into the inversion for the displacement gradient tensor. The removal of the reference frame has the effect of improving the condition number of the Green’s function and making the inversion more stable. Displacement and strain field from the 2019 Ridgecrest earthquakes derived from analysis of WorldView optical satellite imagery (ver. 2.0, May 2021)
This Data Release contains co-seismic horizontal and vertical displacements of the 2019 Ridgecrest earthquakes derived from sub-pixel cross correlation of WorldView satellite optical imagery. Additionally, the dataset contains the 2-dimensionsal (2D) and 3-dimensional (3D) surface strain fields, inverted from the surface displacements. We also present an alternative set of 2D surface strain calculations, processed after removal of the UTM reference frame. This data release contains breeding-bird densities in native mixed-grass prairie collected from 2003 to 2012 at and adjacent to wind farms in North and South Dakota, USA, for one year prior to turbine construction and several years post-construction. One dataset contains breeding-bird densities per 100 ha by distance from turbines for categories of 0-100 m, 100-200 m, 200-300 m, and greater than 300 m from turbines and for reference (i.e., control) sites. A second dataset contains breeding-bird density overall for turbine and reference sites, without the distance-category breakdown.
