This dataset contains the physical collection information (e.g., sample location, date, gear type) and microsatellite DNA genotype of egg and larval Lake Sturgeon collected in the St. Clair and Detroit rivers in 2015 and 2016. Individuals were genotyped for 18 microsatellite loci (13 disomic and 5 polysomic). Alleles (base pair sizes) were recorded as presence absence scores (1:present, 2:absent, 0:missing data) for all previously observed alleles. Thus individual genotypes were recorded as pseudo diploid dominant phenotypes resulting in individual vectors of length n=205 for each genotyped egg or larval individual.

Summary To support coastal and ocean planning and other activities pursuant to the Energy Policy Act, Coastal Zone Management Act, Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Rivers and Harbors Act and the Submerged Lands Act. Description An artificial reef is a human-made underwater structure, typically built to promote marine life in areas with a generally featureless bottom, control erosion, block ship passage, or improve surfing. Many reefs are built using objects that were built for other purposes, for example by sinking oil rigs (through the Rigs-to-Reefs program), scuttling ships, or by deploying rubble or construction debris. Other artificial reefs are purpose...

This data set contains bottom hardness and surficial substrate compositions measured as part of a study evaluating the maturation of fish spawning reef restoration projects in the St. Clair-Detroit River System. Five spawning reef complexes (Middle Channel, Harts Light, Pointe Aux Chenes, Grassy Island, and Belle Isle) constructed with 10-20 cm broken limestone from 2012-2016 were evaluated as part of the study. Sonar surveys began in 2012, following the construction of the Middle Channel Reef complex and expanded to additional projects, as they were completed (Harts Light and Pointe Aux Chenes Reefs in 2014, Grassy Island Reef in 2015, and the Belle Isle Reef complex in 2016). Sonar surveys over the Fighting Island...
