The LIMS (laboratory information management system) database is a computerized record of specimens - from serum samples to carcasses - sent to the National Wildlife Health Center (NWHC) for processing and diagnostic workup. Data include history and recordkeeping information (identifier numbers, species, sex, submitter information, etc); types of tests run (virology, bacteriology, parasitology, chemistry, etc.) and some test results for heavy metals, particularly lead; and diagnostic results. The diagnostic coding system is based on SNOMED terminology, with certain modifications and additions to fit Center needs. SNOMED, the Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine, is a structured nomenclature and classification of...

Some of the SNK rasters intentionally do not align or have the same extent. These rasters were not snapped to a common raster per the authors' discretion. Please review selected rasters prior to use. These varying alignments are a result of the use of differing source data sets and all products derived from them. We recommend that users snap or align rasters as best suits their own projects. - This dataset consists of raster distribution maps for terrestrial vertebrate species in Alaska. Individual species distribution maps were developed using the best available known occurrence points for each species and modeled using MaxEnt software and a series of environmental predictor variables. Output maps were clipped...

The Western United States of America is a diverse region with widely variable plant and animal communities, climate, geology, soil characteristics, and land ownership patterns. The Western Landscapes Map Viewer allows you to explore data and maps from a variety of sources to learn more about natural resources in the west. The Western Landscapes Explorer provides access to information used to evaluate large landscapes over time. This includes data and information developed by the Integrated Landscape Assessment Project, as well as other landscape-level information designed to facilitate decision making, research, and exploration. Through the Western Landscapes Explorer you can: Explore western landscapes and...

Maps of amphibian diversity include the total species richness, major taxonomic Orders (Anura, Caudata,Gymnophiona), threatened species, and small-ranged species. Species considered small-ranged are those with a geographic range size smaller than the global median (i.e., the 50% of species with the smallest ranges). Maps are based on data from the IUCN, July 2013 update. For amphibians, all of the maps have been generated at a spatial resolution of 10x10km. Maps represent native, extant species only. Tables of the amphibian species included are available for (download http://biodiversitymapping.org/amphibians.htm).

The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species contains assessments for just over 76,000 species, of which about two-thirds have spatial data. This spatial data provided below is for comprehensively assessed taxonomic groups. It is important to note that some species such as those listed as Data Deficient are not mapped and subspecies are mapped within the parental species. The data is available as ESRI shapefiles format and contains the known range of each species. Ranges are depicted as polygons, except for the freshwater HydroSHED tables. The shapefiles contain taxonomic information, distribution status, IUCN Red List category, sources and other details about the maps (see metadata document). Please note that the files...

These data indicate whether a premetamorphic or any life stage of each amphibian species (sierran treefrog Pseudacris sierra, California red-legged frog Rana draytonii, and rough-skinned newt Taricha granulosa) was detected in a survey. These data, combined with the survey data, are necessary for modeling occupancy while accounting for imperfect detection. Surveys for which no detections occurred do not appear in this file, but are in the survey data file (Survey_Data_for_Occupancy_of_Amphibians_in_Northern_California_Coastal_Dune_Drainages_2014_2016).
These data describe the maximum water depth in each studied coastal dune drainage in each study year. Water depth is used as a proxy for hydroperiod, and is a good indicator of the relative persistence of surface water among sites that can be collected in a single visit.

Amphibians living in agricultural areas encounter many challenges. Two factors affecting individuals in these landscapes are habitat loss and pesticides. This thesis focuses on amphibians using agricultural wetlands in Iowa, where row crops such as corn and soybeans dominate the landscape. The goal of my first study was to determine the influences of site characteristics on amphibian presence and success. I used occupancy analysis to estimate proportion of area occupied by four species as a function of eight covariates hypothesized to affect occupancy: fish abundance, salamander abundance, invertebrate density, vegetative cover, wetland area, water atrazine concentration, surrounding crop land use, and overall wetland...

Funded by Arizona Game & Fish Department, our team of conservation biologists and GIS Analysts at Northern Arizona University are creating detailed linkage designs for 16 priority areas highlighted in the Wildlife Linkages Assesment. These plans identify and map multi-species corridors that will best maintain wildlife movement between wildland blocks, as well as highlight specific planning and road mitigation measures required to maintain connectivity in these corridors. Note: The linkage design reports are in compressed PDF format for faster download. Unfortunately, the compression occasionally makes small text on maps within the report difficult to read. If you would like a high-resolution PDF or PNG copy of any...

iMapInvasives Arizona is an online data management tool that is a standardized, central repository of location information for all invasive species taxon. The tool facilitates data sharing and utilization by land managers, the public and other organizations. The database stores basic point locations of invasive species observations, but also allows for advanced data management, including the capability to input treatment records, survey records, and track infestations over time. Use this tool by contributing data, planning and collaborating projects, or monitoring infestations.
