This data release is a geochemical data set from the reanalysis of 23 rock and 85 sediment samples collected between 1966 and 1970 by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) for a series of studies investigating the mineral resources of the Idaho Primitive Area (Cater et al., 1973). The samples are from the upper Middle Fork Salmon River and the South Fork Salmon River, including the tributaries of East Fork of the South Fork and Porphyry Creek. The overall objective of this study is to characterize the regional impact of legacy mining for the Frank Church - River of No Return Wilderness Area. In 1980 the U. S. Congress passed the Central Idaho Wilderness Act which combined the Idaho Primitive Area, the Salmon Rivers...

Boundary of the alluvium in the Lower Arkansas River Valley, Southeast Colorado. Boundary defined by extent of available bedrock information and geologic maps. Also includes approximate shoreline of John Martin Reservoir in Bent County, Colorado. Scale of maps used for digitization was 1:62,500. All digitization and geoprocessing was done using ArcGIS Desktop v10 (Environmental Systems Research Institute, 2011)

Points representing locations of wells in which water levels were measured, and values of water-level altitudes above the National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 for June 1 to November 30 (hereafter defined as "fall") and December 1 to May 31 (hereafter defined as "spring"), 2002, 2008, and 2015 in the Lower Arkansas River Valley, Southeastern Colorado. Water-level values, John Martin Reservoir lake levels, and land surface altitudes at monitoring wells were gathered from the U.S. Geological Survey National Water Information System (NWIS) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. All geoprocessing was done using ArcGIS Desktop v10 (Environmental Systems Research Institute, 2011).
