Geologic data from a generalized geologic map of the Coeur d'Alene mining district by Gott and Cathrall (1980) was entered into a geographic information system (GIS) as part of a larger effort to create a regional digital geology for the Pacific Northwest. The map area is located in northern Idaho and extends across the state border into western Montana.

This report is one in a series of digital maps, data files, and reports generated by the US Geological Survey to provide geologic process and mineral resource information for the Interior Columbia Basin Ecosystem Management Project (ICBEMP), a US Forst Service and Bureau of Land Management interagency project. The various digital maps and data files which were provided by the USGS, and which are available in this and other reports, are being used in a GIS-based ecosystem assessment which includes a comprehensive analysis of past, present, and future ecosystem conditions within the general area of the Columbia River Basin east of the Cascade Mountains.

The bedrock geology of the 7.5-minute Windham quadrangle, New Hampshireconsists of deformed early Paleozoic crystalline metamorphic and intrusiveigneous rocks intruded by Mesozoic igneous dikes. The geologic data was mapped during the summer of 1998 at a scale of1:24,000. The bedrock geology was mapped using standard techniques.Locational information was provided by Rockwell PLGR+96 GPS receiversusing the federal precise positioning service. The line and polygon data were compiled on a mylar greenline of the7.5-minute quadrangle and scanned at 400 dpi on an Anatech Eagle 4080Tscanner. The raster files (TIF) were converted to vector files (DXF)using GTX OSR version 2.0 raster-to-vector conversion software. Thevector...

Geologic data from the geologic map of the Spokane 1:100,000-scale quadrangle compiled by Joseph (1990) were entered into a geographic information system (GIS) as part of a larger effort to create regional digital geology for the Pacific Northwest. The map area is located in eastern Washington and extendds across the state border into western Idaho.

The 17 January 1994 Northridge, California, earthquake (M=6.7)triggered more than 11,000 landslides over an area of about 10,000km2. Most of the landslides were concentrated in a 1,000-km2 areathat includes the Santa Susana Mountains and the mountains north ofthe Santa Clara River valley. We mapped landslides triggered by theearthquake in the field and from 1:60,000-scale aerial photographyprovided by the U.S. Air Force and taken the morning of theearthquake; these were subsequently digitized and plotted in aGIS-based format, as shown on the accompanying maps (which also areaccessible via Internet). Most of the triggered landslides wereshallow (1-5 m), highly disrupted falls and slides in weaklycemented Tertiary...

This report describes the contents of a digital data set(approximately 269 MB) which consists of Arc/Info Export formatfiles and associated macro programs. This report is one in a seriesof digital maps, data files, and reports generated by the USGeological Survey to provide geologic process and mineral resourceinformation to the Interior Columbia Basin Ecosytem ManagementProject (ICBEMP). The various digital maps and data files are beingused in a GIS-based ecosystem assessment including an analysis ofdiverse questions relating to past, present, and future conditionswithin the general area of the Columbia River Basin east of theCascade Mountains.
