The main objective of this project was to develop a dataset of large, anthropogenic barriers that are spatially linked to the National Hydrography Dataset Plus Version 1 (NHDPlusV1) for the conterminous U.S. and the high resolution National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) for Alaska (1:63,000 scale) and Hawaii (1:24,000 scale) to facilitate GIS analyses based on the NHDPlusV1/NHD and NID datasets. To meet this objective, Michigan State University conducted a spatial linkage of the point dataset of the 2009 National Inventory of Dams (NID) created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to the NHDPlusV1/NHD. This ArcGIS Map Package contains information on brook trout occupancy in the southern portion of the brook trout range (PA and south). Fish sample data from a number of state and federal agencies/organizations were used to define patches for brook trout as groups of occupied contiguous catchment polygons from the National Hydrography Dataset Plus Version 1 (NHDPlusV1) catchment GIS layer. After defining patches, NHDPlusV1 catchments were assigned occupancy codes. Then state and federal agencies reviewed patches and codes to verify data accuracy. A similar effort is currently being conducted by the Eastern Brook Trout Joint Venture to develop occupancy data for the remainder of the brook trout range including states...

This shapefile is the official boundary of the Matanuska Susitna Basin Salmon Habitat Partnership. The boundary was originally developed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and was updated in 2013 to reflect revisions from the Matanuska Susitna Basin Salmon Habitat Partnership, a recognized Fish Habitat Partnership (FHP) of the National Fish Habitat Partnership.

This database contains physical and biological data for the Lower Colorado River Basin. The metrics include information on geology, hydrology, landcover, stewardship, topography, soil types and characteristics, stream characteristics, connectivity, and watershed position (information on where a stream segment or catchment is located in relationship to other segments or catchments; e.g. distance from a catchment to the mouth of the Colorado River, Shreve Link). This shapefile contains sub-indices comprised of various anthropogenic land use/covers respresentative of the risk of potential habitat degradation to streams within the state of Hawaii. Subindices are summarized for local and network catchments specific to perennial stream reaches throughout the state. This shapefile displays and describes National Fish Habitat Partnership project locations. The included projects were extracted from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Fisheries Information Structure (FIS) on July 2013.
