A rich legacy of geochemical data produced since the early 1960s covers the great expanse of Alaska; careful treatment of such data may provide significant and revealing geochemical maps that may be used for landscape geochemistry, mineral resource exploration, and geoenvironmental investigations over large areas. This publication provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution horizontal magnetic gradient and radiometric survey over the Ironton, Missouri area of southeast Missouri. Data were collected using a fixed wing aircraft with magnetometers mounted in the tail stinger and each wing tip pod and a fully calibrated gamma ray spectrometer. The survey operated out of the Farmington, Missouri airport during January to mid-February of 2016. The survey covers an irregularly shaped region within a 54 x 53 square-kilometer area centered on the town of Ironton, Missouri. Nonstationary streamflow due to environmental and human-induced causes can affect water quality over time, yet these effects are poorly accounted for in water-quality trend models. This data release provides instream water-quality trends and estimates of two components of change, for sites across the Nation previously presented in Oelsner et al. (2017). We used previously calibrated Weighted Regressions on Time, Discharge, and Season (WRTDS) models published in De Cicco et al. Optimal hydrograph separation (OHS) is a two-component, hydrograph separation method that uses a two-parameter, recursive digital filter (RDF) constrained via chemical mass balance to estimate the base flow contribution to a stream or river (Rimmer and Hartman, 2014; Raffensperger et al., 2017). A recursive digital filter distinguishes between high-frequency and low-frequency discharge data within a hydrograph, where high-frequency data corresponds to quick flow or storms and low-frequency data corresponds to base flow. Northeast SJV (NESJV), Southeast SJV (SESJV), Western SJV (WSJV), and Southern SJV (SSJV). These regions were primarily defined from the California Department of Water Resources SJV groundwater subbasins (CDWR, 2003); minor modifications were made to the CDWR defined subbasin boundaries to optimize separation of groundwater derived from the Sierra Nevada to the east and from the Coast Ranges to the west under predevelopment conditions. Each region was divided into equal-area grid cells, ranging from 280 km2 in the SESJV to 984 km2 in the SSJV, for a total of 88 cells. Detailed point center quarter sampling (Mueller-Dombois and Ellenberg 1974) was conducted during late June along a 150-m long transect that started at a bird survey point. Four plots were sampled corresponding to the start, 50m, 100m and end points of each transect. At each of these four sample plots, species, diameter at breast height (dbh) and distance from the center of the plot were recorded tor trees (>8cm dbh) and saplings (≤8cm dbh). Number of standing snags (>8cm dbh and over 2 m tall) within 25m of the plot center were counted. Our model is a full-annual-cycle population model {hostetler2015full} that tracks groups of bat surviving through four seasons: breeding season/summer, fall migration, non-breeding/winter, and spring migration. Our state variables are groups of bats that use a specific maternity colony/breeding site and hibernaculum/non-breeding site. Eggs were collected in the Upper Mississippi main stem (Pool 9 and Pool 11) during the summer of 2013. Using previously published morphological characteristics, eggs were positively identified as belonging to an invasive Asian carp genus. A subsample of these eggs was subsequently analyzed using molecular methods to determine species identity. Genetic identification of a total of 41 eggs was attempted using the cytochrome c oxidase 1 (COI) gene. Due to the preservation technique used (formalin) and resulting DNA degradation, sequences from only 17 individuals could be recovered. Water samples were collected from six cave locations where Actinobacterial mats appeared to be plentiful. Community-level physiological capabilities were evaluated using Biolog-Ecolog plates inoculated with cave water dosed with 0 or 0.10 milligrams per liter (mg/L) of erythromycin. The data were transformed into average well color development (AWCD). The transformation is done by subtracting the background color development (blank controls) and then averaging the three color readings of the same treatment on the same Biolog EcoPlate. This portion of the USGS data release presents sediment grain-size data from samples on the Elwha River delta, Washington, in February 2016 (USGS Field Activity Number 2016-608-FA). Surface sediment was collected at a total of 83 locations using a small ponar, or 'grab', sampler from the R/V Frontier in water depths between 1 and 17 m around the delta. An additional 18 samples were collected by hand at low tide. A handheld global satellite navigation system (GNSS) receiver was used to determine the locations of sediment samples. Data are provide for four samples of unexpanded vermiculite ore from mines near Enoree, South Carolina; Libby, Montana; Louisa, Virginia; Palabora, and South Africa. ASCII text files listings of Mossbauer data for each sample are provided in comma-separated by value (csv) files. These files have the file naming structure sampleid_mossbauer_spectra.csv, where sampleid is a unique alphanumeric code for each sample. These samples were chosen as representative of the ores from their various mine sources, having documentation verifying that they were collected directly from their sources.

These data are from a 1998 multibeam survey of the sea floor offshore of Moriches Inlet, New York. There are five datasets: bathymetry grid, shaded-relief image, backscatter intensity image, shaded-relief colored by backscatter intensity image, and trackline navigation. The bathymetry shows the shape of the sea floor. Of particular interest are the size, shape, and orientation of bed forms that may indicate sediment movement. The shaded-relief image provides a visualization of the bathymetry that accentuates small features that cannot be effectively shown as contours alone.
