These datasets are continuous parameter grids (CPG) of monthly mean evapotranspiration data for March through September, years 2005 through 2009, in the Pacific Northwest. Source evapotranspiration data was produced using the operational Simplified Surface Energy Balance (SSEBop) model.
This dataset is a continuous parameter grid (CPG) of baseflow index values (percent of discharge as baseflow) estimated at U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) streamgages in the Pacific Northwest. Source data was produced by David Wolock of USGS.

These datasets are continuous parameter grids (CPG) of land cover types (percent of basin classified by cover type) for the years 2001, 2006, and 2011 in the Pacific Northwest. Cover types include forest, agriculture, developed, wetland, and open water. Source data was the National Land Cover Dataset, produced by the Multi-Resolution Land Characteristics (MRLC) Consortium.

These data are 30m by 30 m grids of the mean Standardized Precipitation-Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) between 2001-2014 in the western United States. The SPEI index was developed by Sergio M. Vicente-Serrano and coauthors (https://spei.csic.es/index.html). Source evapotranspiration and precipitation data were generated by gridMET (http://www.climatologylab.org/gridmet.html).

Data set is a combined collection of post-fire species point intercept cover monitoring data across the Murphy 2007 fire, Rush 2012 fire, Holloway 2012 fire, and Soda 2015 fire. Data was collected between 2008 and 2022 by the Bureau of Land Management, US Geological Survey, and Idaho Fish and Wildfire for various purposes. The species data was leveraged to assess post-fire community structure and trajectories.

Remote camera stations were set up in Whiskeytown National Recreation Area from October 2018 to January 2019 to document occurrence of mesocarnivores and other wildlife. Forty-five single-camera sampling stations were setup throughout the park. Camera locations were chosen based on the Klamath Monitoring Network vegetation plots. The dataset contains all species observed within the study time-frame, the date and time of observation and the number of individuals detected, as well as identification for individual locations, cameras and images. Of the three target species of conservation concern (Pacific fisher (Pekania pennanti), Pacific marten (Martes caurina), and Sierra Nevada red fox (Vulpes vulpes nector)), only...

This dataset includes timber harvest treatments; mercury concentrations in aquatic macroinvertebrates, salamanders, and riparian songbirds; carbon and nitrogen stable isotopes in aquatic macroinvertebrates and salamanders; and Bayesian estimates of food web length, basal resource diversity, and isotopic niche size for individual feeding guilds.
These data depict the western United States Map Unit areas as defined by the USDA NRCS. Each Map Unit area contains information on a variety of soil properties and interpretations. The raster is to be joined to the .csv file by the field "mukey." We keep the raster and csv separate to preserve the full attribute names in the csv that would be truncated if attached to the raster. Once joined, the raster can be classified or analyzed by the columns which depict the properties and interpretations. It is important to note that each property has a corresponding component percent column to indicate how much of the map unit has the dominant property provided. For example, if the property "AASHTO Group Classification (Surface)...

"Vector Ruggedness Measure (VRM) measures terrain ruggedness as the variation in three-dimensional orientation of grid cells within a neighborhood. Vector analysis is used to calculate the dispersion of vectors normal (orthogonal) to grid cells within the specified neighborhood. This method effectively captures variability in slope and aspect into a single measure. Ruggedness values in the output raster can range from 0 (no terrain variation) to 1 (complete terrain variation). Typical values for natural terrains range between 0 and about 0.4. VRM was adapted from a method first proposed by Hobson (1972). VRM appears to decouple terrain ruggedness from slope better than current ruggedness indices, such as TRI or...

Mitigation of ecological damage caused by rangeland wildfires has historically been an issue restricted to the western United States. It has focused on conservation of ecosystem function through reducing soil erosion and spread of invasive plants. Effectiveness of mitigation treatments has been debated recently. We searched for literature on postfire seeding of rangelands worldwide. Literature databases searched included SCOPUS, Dissertation Abstracts, Forest Science, Tree search, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and science.gov. Search terms within publications included fire or wildfire in combination with seeding, rehabilitation, restoration, revegetation, stabilization, chaining, disking, drilling, invasives,...

This dataset contains count and detection-nondetection data of Barred Owls from 106 historical breeding territories of Northern Spotted Owl territories (i.e. sites) in the Oregon Coast Ranges from 1995 to 2016. Data collected from 1995 to 2014 are partitioned into 2-week periods from 1 March – 31 August each year, totaling 12 possible sampling periods per year. Data collected from 2015 and 2016 are partitioned into 2-month periods from 1 March – 31 August, totaling 3 possible sampling periods each year. This dataset also describes the proportion of total area surveyed per site per sampling period in 2015 and 2016, as well as the proportion of each site with older coniferous forest in each year (1995 – 2016).

This dataset includes fish scientific name, fish common name, site identification codes, latitude, longitude, site name, sample identification codes, collection date, tissue type, percent moisture content in fish samples, and wet and dry total mercury concentrations in fish tissues.
We used radio-telemetry to study late-season movement and habitat use by Oregon spotted frogs (Rana pretiosa) at Crane Prairie Reservoir in Oregon. This dataset includes individual frog location data and habitat use during each tracking event that occurred roughly weekly between September and late November of 2018.

This dataset includes two spreadsheets: The "Avian_abundance_oak_mistletoe_surveys_data" spreadsheet contains data regarding Oregon White Oak tree (Quercus garryana) measurements such as height, diameter and crown volume along with microhabitat data including number of mistletoe infections, number of cavities, amount of dead wood, amount of loose/missing bark, amount of poison oak, amount of bole cracks, and presence of woodpecker sign, bark-beetle sign, and fungal fruiting bodies. The "Avian_abundance_oak_mistletoe_bird_data" spreadsheet contains bird survey observations including data, time, temperature, precipitation, bird species observations, age/sex, and behavioral observations.
Powerlines in the western United States and Canada as identified by the 22 source data layers used to compile this shapefile. Source data were collected by personal contact or through the internet in the winter and spring of 2004 and assimilated using ArcGIS. This file is a complete record of overhead powerline data that was available as of 5/15/2004 but IS NOT INTENDED TO BE A COMPLETE REPRESENTATION OF THE SUM TOTAL OF ALL POWERLINES ON THE GROUND. These data primarily depict the higher voltage, long distance transmission lines but some arcs likely represent lower voltage distribution lines.
