Climate change remains a primary threat to inland fishes and fisheries. Using topic modeling to examine trends and relationships across 36 years of scientific literature on documented and projected climate impacts to inland fish, we identify ten representative topics within this body of literature: assemblages, climate scenarios, distribution, climate drivers, population growth, invasive species, populations, phenology, physiology, and reproduction. A student article reporting on their presentation of the FiCli database at the American Fisheries Society (AFS). The FiCli database follows a rigorous systematic review protocol with annual updates. Each year, the FiCli team examines the top 200 results from both Google Scholar and Web of Science, and follows a 21-page protocol for relevance and data quality standards. Every paper required the author to explicitly cite climate change's influence (e.g., changing water temperature, precipitation patterns, flow alterations) in reference to a fish response (e.g., distribution or phenological changes), and be quality checked through the peer-review process.
