This dataset is a compilation of data obtained from the Idaho Department of Water Quality, the Idaho Department of Water Resources, and the Water Quality Portal. The 'MonitoringLocation' table stores attribute data for groundwater wells. This table is related to the 'SiteID' table (which lists the variety of names given to each well by different organizations) and the 'Samples' table (which shows each sample associated with a particular well).

Dataset contains locations of subsurface drainage tile permits in North Dakota obtained from the North Dakota State Water Commission as of February 2016. This dataset was updated on 4 August 2016 with additional subsurface drainage permits and supersedes the previous version. Date range of permits (Start & End Dates) in this version has changed from previous version because of the following criteria. Permit applications that were marked as "approved" by the State Water Commission were retained in this dataset, all other status types (e.g., pending, denied) were removed. This dataset provides the latitude, longitude, and polygon outline of the location given on the permit, which is not provided by the State Water...

Dataset contains locations of drainage tile permits in North Dakota obtained from the State Water Commission as of October 2013. This dataset provides the latitude and longitude of the location given on the permit, which is not provided by the State Water Commission database. Additionally, overlap of permit polygons (if depicted in a geospatial application) is possible from two permits that share the same area. Permit applications that were marked as denied or that did not require a permit as determined by the State Water Commission were removed from this database.

Collection consist of vertebrates featuring stratigraphic and spatial data. Data is primarily type fossils from the USGS Denver vertebrate Catalog created and maintained by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Data were collected by paleontologist Dr. G. Edward Lewis during his years of service within the USGS Paleontology And Stratigraphy Branch. His catalogs were converted into digital form, Excel and Filemaker Pro database. The Catalog is 1122 fossil localities. His supplementary data has been added whenever possible - sources field map locality points, E&R files with enhanced faunal lists, as well as formal publications. For the complete traditional dataset, please contact Kevin Mckinney (kcmckinney@usgs.gov)....

This raster dataset depicts percent canopy cover derived from 1-m conifer classifications. Conifer features were classified from 2010, 2012, and 2013 NAIP Digital Ortho Quarter Quads (DOQQ) using the Feature Analyst 5.0 extension for ArcGIS 10.1. Tiles were organized and grouped by Nevada Department of Wildlife Bi-State Population Management Unit (PMU) locations, plus a 10 km area beyond the PMU extent. Analysts visually identified conifers in the imagery using false color infrared settings and digitized multiple trees per tile as training locations for classification. After performing hierarchical learning and clutter removal with Feature Analyst to remove non-conifer features on output shapefiles, the conifer...

A detailed table summarizing the irrigated acreage by crop type and irrigation system was developed for the 2018 growing season (November 2017 and September 2018) for Lee County, Florida. The acreage totals presented are derived from the results of a cooperative project that mapped and field-verified irrigated fields in Lee County, Florida. In addition, the table provides acreage totals by crop type published by the U.S. Department of Commerce for 1978 and 1982 and the U.S. Department of Agriculture for years between 1987 and 2012.

The Paunsaugunt Plateau in southern Utah is home to a prolific mule deer herd numbering around 5,200 individuals in 2019. In early October, these mule deer begin their migration from the Plateau traveling south distances up to 78 miles to winter range in the Buckskin Mountains near the Utah-Arizona border. Approximately 20-30% of the Paunsaugunt Plateau herd reside in northern Arizona during the winter, sharing winter range also used by deer from the Kaibab Plateau herd. Beginning in late April, deer reverse their migration to summer range on the Plateau. The most significant challenge for these deer is US Highway 89 which bisects this migration corridor and winter range, where deer-vehicle collisions have historically...

In 2008, 13 mule deer were GPS collared near the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to understand the impact of Arizona’s State Route 64 on mule deer movement. Unexpectedly, 4 individuals migrated over 50 miles to summer range near the San Francisco Peaks, north of Flagstaff, containing alpine, subalpine, and ponderosa pine habitats. The GPS collars dropped in 2009, but questions surrounding this long-distance migration remained. In June of 2019, the Arizona Game and Fish Department GPS collared 20 mule deer from the San Francisco Peaks herd on their summer range in Game Management Unit 7E/7W, where an estimated 5,300 mule deer reside. The primary challenges to mule deer in this migration corridor are related to navigating...

The application of two management strategies were tested across nine, Class III, wetland catchments located at the Woodworth Study Area (Stutsman County, ND). This field study took place during 2014 and 2015. 2014 was a pre-treatment year and snow measurements were taken in all experimental catchments in the late February 2015, before treatments were applied. Temporary electric fences were installed surrounding each wetland catchment to exclude them from grazing that took place on the management unit in 2015. All the catchments had been managed in a similar manner since purchased by USFWS in 1964. The primary management strategy of the wetland catchments from 1964–2013 was non-use with occasional prescribed burning....

Dataset contains locations of subsurface drainage (tile) permits in South Dakota obtained from County and Local Water Board records in South Dakota. The counties included in this dataset are: Brown, Deuel, Grant, Hamlin, Hanson, Kingsbury, Lake, McCook, Minnehaha, Moody, Roberts, Spink, and Turner. The date permits records were collected by this survey vary by county. Other counties in the eastern portion of the state not included in the preceeding list of counties either did not require a drainage permit or permit data was not available at the time of this survey. A majority of permits were collected as of January 2012. Two counties (Hanson and Minnehaha) were updated in December,2013. The permit location (in...

To accurately estimate agricultural water use or to project future water demands, a detailed inventory of current irrigated crop acreage is needed at a high level of resolution. In many Florida counties this kind of detailed high-resolution inventory is not available. A detailed digital map and summary of irrigated acreage during the 2015 growing season was developed for 13 of the 15 counties that compose the Suwannee River Water Management District. The irrigated areas were delineated using land-use data, orthoimagery, water management district consumptive water-use permits, and digitized agricultural landuse maps developed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Statewide Agricultural...

These data represent the extent and spatial distribution of irrigated acreage delineated from maximum Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) derived from Landsat scenes in the Walker River Basin, California and Nevada, at five-year intervals from 1975-2010. The field boundaries in this data set are digitized from one-year composite maximum NDVI data derived from atmospherically corrected Landsat 2 Multispectral Scanner (MSS), Landsat 5 MSS, and Landsat 5 Thematic Mapper (TM) scenes. NDVI was calculated from the corrected reflectance data for each selected scene during the growing season (May through early October) and a single, composite image of maximum NDVI values was derived for each 5-year interval. Selecting...
