The effects of a dilute (ionic strength = 5 × 10−3 M) plume of treated sewage, with elevated levels (3.9 mg/L) of dissolved organic carbon (DOC), upon the pH-dependency and magnitude of bacterial transport through an iron-laden, quartz sand aquifer (Cape Cod, MA) were evaluated using sets of replicate, static minicolumns. To determine the differences in soil microbial community composition between native and non-native lineages of Phragmites, we sampled soils from eight sites in the Great Lakes basin where populations of native and non-native Phragmites co-occurred. This study aimed to (1) enrich microbial acetylenotrophs from trichloroethylene (TCE) contaminated groundwater and (2) evaluate whether these enrichments could degrade TCE coupled to acetylene degradation. This study evaluated the use of medicated feeds to treat furunculosis infections caused by the bacterium Aeromonas salmonicida in lake herring (Coregonus artedi, Lesueur, 1818). The objectives of this two-phase study were to (1) determine if Coregonus artedi could be adequately and consistently infected with A. salmonicida by the methods of bath immersion or intraperitoneal (IP) injection, and (2) determine if the medicated feeds Oxytetracycline Dihydrate (Terramycin® 200 For Fish) and Florfenicol (Aquaflor®) could be used for the control of furunculosis caused by A. salmonicida. These datasets include water quality, mortality, feed weights and behavior, and qPCR data collected during both phases of the study.
