Data are time series of substrate grain size, remotely sensed water column turbidity, and measures of abundance (e.g., density, percent cover) of the nearshore subtidal (3-17 m depth) benthic community (vegetation, invertebrates, and fish) collected before (2008-2011) and during dam removal (2012-2014).
These are all the chemical, biological, and physical results collected in 2013 and 2014 for the subject study.

Water, bed sediment, and biota were sampled in selected streams from Butte to near Missoula, Montana, as part of a monitoring program in the upper Clark Fork Basin of western Montana. The sampling program was led by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

These data describe the catch and biological data from 363 bottom-set gill-net lifts distributed throughout Lake Michigan (including main basin and Green Bay) between April and November in 1930–1932. Data collected from the R/V Fulmar were recorded in notebooks and are now archived at the U.S. Geological Survey’s Great Lakes Science Center. Each lift included 1–7 gangs of linen gill nets. Each gang comprised 3–5 panels each having a length of 155 m, a height of 1.5 m, and a (stretch-)mesh size of either 60, 64, 67, 70, or 76 mm. The digitization of the Fulmar data notebooks was started in the late 1990s and finished in this study.
This data release contains estimates of mean daily gross primary production (GPP) and ecosystem respiration (ER) in Bronson and Fanno Creeks, Oregon during August of 2016. These estimates were part of a larger study of the water-quality effects of beaver dams and beaver activity in selected urban streams of the Tualatin River Basin in northwestern Oregon. Zebra and quagga mussel veligers were exposed to eleven distinct cultures (isolates) of cyanobacteria representing Anabaena, Aphanizomenon, Dolichospermum, Microcystis, and Planktothrix species and the cyanotoxin microcystin to determine the lethality of cyanobacteria on dreissenid veligers. A total of 27 temperature sensors were deployed along the lower 90 miles of the Yakima River at 7 locations where cold water had been previously observed. These 7 cold-water areas had 3 to 6 temperature sensors installed to document the extent and duration of these cold-water areas and their impacts on mainstem temperatures of the Lower Yakima River. The Stream Conditions of Chester County Biological Monitoring Network was established by the U.S. Geological Survey and the Chester County Water Resources Authority in 1969. Benthic-macroinvertebrate, habitat, and stream chemistry data were collected annually from 1998-2021 at 18 fixed location sites. This dataset includes hourly stream temperature data for 139 temperature logger sites throughout the Lahontan Basin Region of Northern Nevada and Eastern California. Data loggers were part a study beginning in 2017, with data available through 2019 for most locations. This USGS data release documents species distribution models for 271 fluvial fish species in their native ranges of the conterminous United States. Source data, supporting code and model results are documented in this data package. Boosted Regression Tree (BRT) models were used to develop presence/absence predictions for each of the National Hydrography Dataset Plus Version 2.1 stream segments within a species' native range. Coastal management decisions are complex and include challenging tradeoffs. Decision science offers a useful framework to address such complex problems. We illustrate the process with several coastal restoration studies. Our capstone example is based on a recent barrier island restoration assessment project at Dauphin Island, Alabama, which included the development of geomorphological and ecological models that forecast environmental changes over a 10 year time period from 2015 to 2025.
