Index card: Small sand spouts near the mouth of Johnson Creek. This sand spout (formed on the night of the earthquake) threw out cobbles, gravel, and sand. Water bubbled in this spout for three to four hours after the earthquake, but by early the next morning the water had quieted and began to subside. Hebgen Lake earthquake, Montana. August 1959.
