1:100K Distribution of Oregon Anadromous Salmon and Steelhead habitat obtained from ODFW for use in the Western Oregon Plan Revision (WOPR) Proposed Resource Management Plan (PRMP). These data describe areas of suitable habitat believed to be used (currently and historically) by wild, natural, and/or hatchery fish populations. The term "currently" is defined as within the past five reproductive cycles. See the 'USETYPE' field description to differentiate between current and historic distribution. This information is based on extensive surveys, the best professional judgment of ODFW staff biologists and where possible, the professional opinions of staff from other natural resource agencies. Due to natural variations...

Northern Spotted Owl habitat within Western Oregon. When the simple age class of a tree stand proved not to be sufficient in determining spotted owl habitat, BLM district biologists returned to the field during the 1991 field season and revisited all 60,000 Operations Inventory timber stand units in Western Oregon. They classified each stand as a 1, 2, or 3, depending on the type of owl activity present, and added that to the Micro*Storms Operations Inventory database. In November, 1991, that information was used to create this new theme from the Forest Operations Inventory spatial theme. In March 1993, this theme was revised to include a 4th category, that land that -due to its nature- could never be developed...
