These data represent the Habitat Based Populations of the Quino checkerspot butterfly based on observation data from 1997 to 2012. The observations were buffered by a 1 kilometer distance and then combined and named as specific population base areas following the criteria in the 5 year review.

This dataset shows modelled habitat suitability for the Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) under current and projected future conditions. We built habitat suitability models for 237 bird, 117 mammal, and 12 amphibian species. Species were chosen for inclusion in the study based on a simple set of criteria. For a species to be included in the study, it had to be primarily associated with terrestrial habitats, have a digital map of its current range, and have some portion of its current distribution intersect with the study area extent. In addition, we restricted the list of species used in the study to those for which a well-performing continental-scale model could be built. Digital species range maps were converted from...

The Cooperative Land Cover Map is a project to develop an improved statewide land cover map from existing sources and expert review of aerial photography. The project is directly tied to a goal of Florida's State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP) to represent Florida's diverse habitats in a spatially-explicit manner. The Cooperative Land Cover Map integrates 3 primary data types: 1) 6 million acres are derived from local or site-specific data sources, primarily on existing conservation lands. Most of these sources have a ground-truth or local knowledge component. We collected land cover and vegetation data from 37 existing sources. Each dataset was evaluated for consistency and quality and assigned a confidence category...
Core Habitat for Imperiled Species is one of a suite of products from the Nature’s Network project (naturesnetwork.org). Nature’s Network is a collaborative effort to identify shared priorities for conservation in the Northeast, considering the value of fish and wildlife species and the natural areas they inhabit. This product represents a regional network of the most intact of habitats estimated to be most important for sustaining populations of imperiled species, currently based on over 600 Species of Greatest Conservation Need (SGCN).A number of additional datasets that augment or complement Core Habitat for Imperiled Species, including Habitat Condition for Imperiled Species (the more extensive dataset from...

This data product contains combined estimates of high habitat connectivity areas for mountain lion, mule deer, desert bighorn sheep, and black bear. The analysis area was a 236,000 square kilometers that encompassed the Navajo Nation, which includes portions of Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. The estimates of habitat quality were created with spatially explicit habitat variables and either an expert-based linear combination process (for mountain lion and mule deer) or a generalized linear mixed model-based estimation that used radio-collar telemetry data (for desert bighorn sheep, black bear, and pronghorn; collected between 2005-2011). Habitat variables varied among species but included vegetation type, terrain...
This dataset consists of short-term (~31 years) shoreline change rates for the north coast of Alaska between the Hulahula River and the Colville River. Rate calculations were computed within a GIS using the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) version 4.3, an ArcGIS extension developed by the U.S. Geological Survey. Short-term rates of shoreline change were calculated using a linear regression rate-of-change method based on available shoreline data between 1979 and 2010. A reference baseline was used as the originating point for the orthogonal transects cast by the DSAS software. The transects intersect each shoreline establishing measurement points, which are then used to calculate short-term rates.

This dataset consists of long-term (~65 years) shoreline change rates for the north coast of Alaska between Point Barrow and Icy Cape. Rate calculations were computed within a GIS using the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) version 4.3, an ArcGIS extension developed by the U.S. Geological Survey. Long-term rates of shoreline change were calculated using a linear regression rate-of-change method based on available shoreline data between 1947 and 2012. A reference baseline was used as the originating point for the orthogonal transects cast by the DSAS software. The transects intersect each shoreline establishing measurement points, which are then used to calculate long-term rates.

This dataset consists of short-term (~32 years) shoreline change rates for the north coast of Alaska between Point Barrow and Icy Cape. Rate calculations were computed within a GIS using the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) version 4.3, an ArcGIS extension developed by the U.S. Geological Survey. Short-term rates of shoreline change were calculated using an end point rate-of-change method based on available shoreline data between 1979 and 2011. A reference baseline was used as the originating point for the orthogonal transects cast by the DSAS software. The transects intersect each shoreline establishing measurement points, which are then used to calculate short-term rates.
