This dataset represents a species distribution model for least tern (Sternula antillarum) on New Jersey’s Atlantic coast and was created as part of the Protection of Critical Beach Habitat project. In addition to least tern, this project includes species distribution models for piping plover (Charadrius melodus), least tern (Sternula antillarum), and American oystercatcher (Haematopus palliatus). This dataset depicts Marten (Martes americana) habitat in the Northern Appalachians predicted using the spatially explicit population model PATCH under the increased trapping intensity scenario (B4; Carrol 2007). This dataset represents one of several scenarios testing the interacting effects of trapping, timber harvest, habitat restoration, and climate change on marten populations. Static habitat suitability models for marten were fed through PATCH to predict source and sink habitat areas across the landscape. Provisional Tennessee State Wildlife Action Plan (TN-SWAP) terrestrial habitat priorities versus results of the population growth model developed by the Tennessee Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, 2008, converted to percent projected developed landcover in the year 2040. Spatial growth model was developed using population growth projections from the University of Tennessee Center for Business and Economic Research (UT-CBER), county urban growth boundaries, 2000 census blocks, and various ancillary datasets.

This fire risk assessment was conducted to understand how resilience and resistance and sage-grouse breeding bird habitat may inform wildland fire management decisions including preparedness, suppression, fuels management and post-fire recovery for western sagebrush communities. The assessment is based on the premise that risk = probability of a threat and the consequences of that threat (negative or positive). Fire risk was determined by the probability of a large wildfire and the consequences of fire on greater sage-grouse breeding habitat.
