This dataset is one of a dozen or so datasets that provide the basis for a vulnerability assessment of the Great Northern LCC that examines land use and climate changes at landscape scales, for the full LCC boundary. It provides a measure of vulnerability based on temperature change using a watershed-based analysis. The values range from 0 to 1 and are unitless, where Vtw = Et x (1-Aw). The original floating point values ranging from 0-1.0 were multiplied by 100 and converted to integer format for this dataset.

This dataset is one of a dozen or so datasets that provide the basis for a vulnerability assessment of the Great Northern LCC that examines land use and climate changes at landscape scales, for the full LCC boundary. It provides a measure of vulnerability based on biome velocity and using a terrestrial (moving window) anlaysis. The values range from 0 to 1 and are unitless, where Vhg = Eh x (1-Ag). The original floating point values ranging from 0-1.0 were multiplied by 100 and converted to integer format for this dataset.

This dataset contains landscape-scale greater sage-grouse Preliminary General Habitat. Specifically, it represents the remaining Sagebrush, Perennial grassland, Conifer encroachment, and some Persistence greater than 25% not accounted for in the 2012 Preliminary Priority Habitat dataset (Version 2 - April 2012). A combination of Key Habitat (Sather-Blair et al., 2000; ISAC 2006; BLM 2012), important winter and breeding habitat, local priority areas (spatially identified by the local working groups, BLM, IDFG biologists), known migration movement corridors, the revised 2011PA polygons, and exclusion of modeled agricultural and timber lands were used to further refine the 2012 Preliminary Priority Habitat (PPH) and...

Sage-grouse core areas are habitats associated with 1) Montana's highest densities of sage-grouse (25% quartile), based on male counts and/or 2) sage-grouse lek complexes and associated habitat important to sage-grouse distribution. The data are intended for display of sage grouse core areas in Montana. The data are intended for initial resource review and conservation planning. For evaluating or reviewing site specific applications Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) recommends contacting the appropriate FWP Regional office. These are the Montana SageGrouse Core Areas 2010 polygons for Idaho-SW Montana Greater Sage Grouse Subregion. Areas that overlap into Idaho do not apply to Idaho and may represent difference...

A valuable component to the range-wide sage-grouse conservation effort is a community-based process using Local Working Groups (LWG). LWG members represent a range of stakeholders including farmers, ranchers, state and federal agency staff, tribal and local governments, energy industry, environmental groups, non-governmental organizations, and other concerned citizens. Although LWGs are in all stages of development throughout the region, each group is responsible for developing a conservation plan to address the threats to sage-grouse populations and habitats in their area. LWGs will lead the implementation of these plans and adapt them as needed locally to be successful.
This layer represents areas which have been proposed (per the requirements of Section 368 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005) as West-wide energy corridors for the final "Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement, Designation of Energy Corridors on Federal Land in the 11 Western States", November 2008. The layer was intersected with surface management agency, BLM field office, and state layers to add more tabular attributes.

The sagebrush ecosystem is the largest ecosystem type in the continental U.S., providing habitat for more than 350 associated fish and wildlife species. In recognition of the need to conserve a healthy sagebrush ecosystem to provide for the long-term conservation of its inhabitants, the US Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) and United States Geological Survey (USGS) developed the Conservation Efforts Database version 2.0.0 (CED). The purpose of the CED is to efficiently capture the unprecedented level of conservation plans and actions being implemented throughout the sagebrush ecosystem and designed to capture actions not only for its most famous resident, the greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus; hereafter,...
Estimated potential for sage-grouse movement among sage-grouse leks (Circuitscape; McRae 2006). Rescaled HSI values were used as a measure of landscape resistance
