Purpose

1) We recently published a spatially explicit model of wolverine habitat throughout its circumboreal range containing a single variable (persistent spring snow cover) that is directly linked to climatic conditions; 2) In this study, we are using MODIS satellite imagery to create a finer scale model of suitable wolverine habitat that can be directly linked to parameters contained in various climate-change scenarios. Thus, we are using our model to predict how the extent and distribution of wolverine habitat will be affected by various climate-change scenarios.
