Industrial mineral site no. 171, known as "Johnston Canyon" is a site in Kittitas County, Washington. This site has been associated with common clays and shales. A notation found in DGER Bulletin 37 on page 21 says "Very extensive deposit of light-colored clay", and designates the value as "A plant operated briefly about 1924. Current owner is W. H. Long".
